I hope you are right. We still need a lead guard to make everything go in the setup that D'Antoni is known for.

Don't underestimate the development of little Nate... He played like a completely different player once Marbury got injured.
He actually started playing some "heady" selfless team ball down the stretch... he was a completely different player than the "highlight reel" Nate of years past.

Outside of Lee; I think Nate will be a tremendous beneficiary of the D'Antoni system because he has now learned how to orchestrate with the pass, that kid plays at a frenetic pace, he never tires, he has a good mid-range jumper, he is not afraid to get in the lane with big bodies for rebounds or tip-ins and he has developed into the team's most respectable 3 point threat.

I just thought this needed its own thread.

I believe in Nate. The dude was definately better at passing and florished at times. I think with D'antoni here with a real offense....Nate can just let his skills and abilities do what it do.

He's here already. If the fix isn't in, why not Nate?

The hiring suggests that Walsh likes some of the young players like Nate, who should do well in an untempo game.

I don't think he necessarily has to be like Nash and just has to concentrate on being in shape to run his arse off. He has the talent to do anything, so he and Crawford will just have to stay in great shape (Crawford, add some more muscle) and be prepared to listen to everything D'Antoni needs them to do, because his system is complex as hell, compared to Isiah's crap. They both have an opportunity to have themselves a feast under D'Antoni.

When I say study Nash- he may not ever be the kind of distributor, but Nate has the ability to dicatate the pace of the game. By pushing the ball, by using his speed and quickness and by learning to not pick up the dribble, Nate can make the game move faster. Get them more possessions etc.

I am hoping that Mike D' is on the phone or meeting up with Crawford and Nate RIGHT NOW, so they can prepare themselves the entire Summer, for his system. Jamal has to become a MUCH more consistent shooter and Nate needs to continue to improve. I want Jamal shooting 1,000 shots a day, even when he goes on vacations. I want both of them watching many many Phoenix Suns tapes and studying his playbook. And of course, I want them improving their defense. Heck, if I were those 2, I'd be rooming together, as if it were college.

Nate Robinson could not have asked for a better opportunity then the one that is before him. We'll see if he is up for the challenge.

I think there is a good chance that a guy like Nate Robinson will thrive under a coach like Mike.

It should still be off the bench of course but Nate is one of the few players we have that you could probably have plugged right into last season's Phoenix Suns and he would have been tremendous off of their bench.

Not that I expect DAntoni to run exactly what he ran in Phoenix, but, Nate should indeed be one of the players that would thrive under him.

It could be. He certainly has shown that he has talent and that he likes to throw up shots. He is a restricted free agent so it will be interesting to see how Dolan/Walsh handle this.

Nate really needs to focus on pushing the pace next season & taking advantage of that motor of his... w/guys who can run on the wings playing alongside him like D Lee & Balk i think the team will finally play w/an identity & style of basketball that will be conducive to winning ballgames with people knowing their roles for once... at least, that's what i'm hoping for.

anyone remember when Pitino was coaching this team & they ran a more uptempo offense? do you think it will be comparable to what D'Antoni will try to run here?

The key is Nate's attitude. If he can just focus (like you said) then he can be great and a starting position could' be his.
I'll never trust this' team again.

Similar pace...minus the press, the big man in the middle, and number 13. Actually I liken his style to Adelman in terms of ball and player movement and the high pick and roll.
