For those of you who wanted jax, this might be the only way to get him a coach job with the Knicks, if D'Antoni didn't work out. I hope that's not the case, but we've seen worse things happen.

Mark Jackson probably will be the Bulls coach and there is no reason for him to leave his current job to be an assistant. If the Knicks were going to play half court Ewing would be a great choice. Unfortunately even though none of the current big men can run the system being put into place will emphasize that. I don't thing Ewing touches an assistants job under Mike D. He knows what happened to Don Nelson and he is getting praised for his work with Dwight. Unfortunately both of these guys are in better situations already than being an assistant with this roster and this coach. Ewing might have come back to work with Jax, Thibs or Avery but he isn't coming back to this.

Because he knows that chicago always makes new york it's target for success and it will be his chance to get back at the knicks. Silly but true.

Actually it is because he interviewed there. He is very highly regarded in NBA circles and is thought by many to be the next big thing among coaches.

I'll be pretty surprised if Jackson now gets one of the remaining HC jobs. I think he'll be a good and possibly great coach, but the team that seemed like the cleanest shot to take him let him dangle for two weeks before taking someone else. I think he's gonna have to go the assistant coaching track now.
