I never claimed to be anything but a spectator. If we have to be great ball players - and put up or shut up - then I guess I don't belong here.
Here here. I never knew the rule was you have to be a great ball player to criticize.
No-one ever said you had to be a great (or in eVIL's case even marginal) ball player in order to have an opinion on the game but it would be nice to at least be respectful of the skill level displayed by even the most hated players on the team you allegedly "root" for. But let's not re-hash old arguments, what I was telling Eny had nothing to do w/anybody's ball playing skills (no homo), but rather with the difference in the crowd reactions in MSG vs. the playground. Both can be vicious but you rarely see the blatant disrespect of someones manhood or character shouted out by someone who does not have the balls (or firearm)to back-up his/her words. To often I feel like "fans" in NBA arenas feel emboldened by their $1000 courtside corporate seats & the protection of Massa Stern, to the point that they think they can hoot & holler anything they want at the "caged animals" on display. Whereas, at the Rucker/Kingdome etc. everyone realizes that if they call into question someone's honor they better be ready to deal with that 6'9" 265lb getting in their face to question them about what they said.
Imagine the outcome, if UK posters had to deal w/some of the players about things posted here, not about B-ball cause i guess thats fair game, but about their wives/eating habits/whther or not they deserved to be shot during home invasions etc. It's all stuff that i know, if someone said to me that i (and I'm sure many here, also)would be ready to scrap over cause as the saying goes..."dems fightin woids"
