The lines:
Lampe 31min, 6-14fg, 2-3 3pt, 7/8ft, 4rbds, 3to, 21pts Sweetney 44min, 7-12fg, 6/6ft, 13rbds, 4stl, 3to, 20pts Williams 35min, 10-21ft, 2-5 3pt, 13-15ft, 9rbds, 2asts, 1st, 1bs, 3to, 35pts! Vranes 6min, 2-3fg, 1rbds, 2to, 4pts
Well... we won this high scoring affair, with all of our young hopefuls performing well, including Vranes, who shot over 50%.
You might as well ink 'em in as future all-stars and hall-of-famers. :)
Vranes aside, the our young guys did very well--- esp. in terms of drawing fouls and getting to the line! These three guys had 29 fta's among them, including an amazing 15 from FW.
Lampe, after two poor games, found his game, shooting just under 50%, and more than quadrupling his prior best of 5 points (2-7fg) last game. Talk about learning curve.
Sweetney rebounded from his poor performance in game 2 with solid rebounding numbers. I'm beginning to wonder about his high OR numbers-- makes me think he's rebounding his own misses--- or perhaps he has a Barkley-like (Fortson-like?!) feel for the ball. Dallas only had 1 block in the game.
FW looks like the star of the show, getting to the line at will, going 13-15 along with 10-21 from the field. Low assist total, though--- tends to make you think he'll be more of a scoring guard than pass-first (but that's okay too). He has enough size to play some SG, too. It looks more and more like Ward will be expendable... by trade or buyout.
All-in-all, a good day for Knick fans. I can't wait to hear what the newspapers say about Lampe tomorrow.
Sadly, Postell had a poor game, going 0-5 for 1pt in 14 minutes. Tough to see the NY products crash and burn.
