Kobe has already won the award according to NBA.com but seriously

CP3 24pts, 15ast, 11reb, 2stls in a close out game NOH 4-1

The NBA needs to do away with this award if it can't manage to get it right.

MVP means different things to different people. i think everyone agrees the top 3 is Kobe, Paul, KG. ranking them from there is just preference. I'd give Paul the vote though.

Lebron should have got it......but Kobe or paul are just as worthy. If Kobe got it its a year over due.

I guess since it's a take turns award Paul will get it next yr. It isn't really determined off anything other than a whim. I can imagine the uprising from our fans if we have a player such as Paul have a similar season and he loses off of a overdue or preference.

If Paul was in NY - he would have so much media exposure that he'd be an almost unanimous MVP. Probably half the NBA fans I know had not seen Paul play before the playoffs. Part of it is his market size. Next year, Paul will probably be on TV as much as Kobe or Lebron and get more votes.

I'm not implying you don't know this but....

Uhhhhh the people who vote see Chris Paul play enough. It's their job to cover the league and if they are lazy in their personal coverage then it only proves even more how much of a joke the award is. The common fan shouldn't know more than the people who get paid to cover the sport. It's not a fan vote award.

well, we don't know who won the award yet, so the perception that kobe or kg or bron have a better chance to win might be the fact that they get a lot more media recognition.

i do know that people voting have seen paul play - but more than watching new orleans games every night, they probably watch the same nba coverage we all do: tnt, espn, etc. and that means they prob saw a lot more kobe, kg, bron this year. i know what you're saying - but rather than a voting of highly knowledgeable people, these kinds of awards usually seem like a lowest common denominator thing. so i do think the fact that kobe, kg and bron are more visible means they have a better chance this season. hopefully paul is on tv more next year after their nice playoff run this year.

yeah, cp3 is amazing but he is young. there were many years where kobe deserved the award and didn't get it. now finally he will get it deservingly so with the stats and record to prove it. i may be in the minority but i thought the two years nash got the mvp trophy meant that the nba was at an all time low. that was ridiculous.

How do you see the CP3 vs. Tony Parker match-up? You think either will have any defensive success vs. the other?

I think the bigger key in the series is if Tyson Chandler can handle RoboTim.

I agree, but he won't (I think this is a safe assumption).
