How can u give a guy with ZERO coaching experience a chance just because he was a good player over ewing who actually HAS lots of assistant coaching experience and was a better player not only in general but for our franchise I say if your not going to give the job to Tom T (who actually really deserves it) and u want 2 take a chance on somebody Ewing deserves it way before Jackson

The knock on Ewing is that he has communication issues that might interfere with his ability to be a strong head coach.

Donnie hasn't flat out said he wanted Mark Jackson. He said he knows him well enough to know he has to talk to him. I think the media is spinning Mark Jackson as a candidate cuz he would provide nice quotes for their paper.

Donnie has only made moves thus far after interviews. I like this approach. He talked about asking teams already in the playoffs about interview people......we can use our imaginations with comments like this.

As far as the slap in the face? Ewing wants to be a coach but come on? The Knicks gotta do what's best for them. If Ewing is the right man, I'm confident Donnie will not bull**** him and hire him. If he isn't the right one....he will hire the right one. I'm confident Donnie will do the right think. He's not a retard like Layden and a douche like Isiah.

Mark Jackson or anyone else would seem foolish to me to take on Isiah's pile of do-do.
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

maybe its not really a slap in the face
maybe they don't want to saddle Ewing with this mess
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Yeah, I doubt Ewing would even want this. He's more of a quiet lead by example guy which probably doesn't translate well into head coach, especially if he's not out there playing. I have to think that Yao Ming's improvement has to be alot in part to Ewing. I would love him to be part of the staff.

Jax was the ultimate thinking man's player. Ewing was a better player, but was more about effort, ability than smarts.

Also, it should not factor in that he was a Knick. You want the best coach, not a walk down memory lane.
