it is obvious that thomas had the physical skills in college leading the nation in boards and points. It is also quite obvious after last year that thomas has recovered from all of his horrible ankle injuries. So is kurt thomas ready to be a top pf in the east??? Is he ready to be up there with brian grant, antonio davis, antoine walker, kenyon martin, pj brown (what other good pw in the east are there??)??? I dont see why kurt cant be considered among those names
ya cant stop me, you can only hope to contain me

Kurt has certainly shown to Van Gundy he is good enough to start and his strong performance in the Playoffs against Toronto indicates to me that he is finally going to dominate forwards like he did at Texas Christian, especially if he can stay out of foul trouble.

i think thomas is going to have a very big year about 15 points and 9 rebs. but they have to get him the ball more in the post it seemed like everytime he got the ball in the post last year somethign good happened and he is a good foul shooter. And im looking foward to see the knicks run n gun more as long as thomas camby and weatherspoon control the boards.

I think KT is definatly going to have a solid year. His weaknesses are usually controling his temper, and keeping out of foul trouble. When put into a starting role last season, he seemed to really make an effort be more calm and keep out of foul trouble. We can expect Kurt to be a solid defender, a respectable rebounder and a reasonable offensive threat.

Dirty Kurty had phenomenal stats as a starter compared to a reserve last year. He brings some Oakley-like intangibles that go innoticed in the box score. a tough, physical, mean attitude on the court. I love what he brings to the team in those areas and he adds great post defense good rebounding especially offensive rebounding and a nice outside touch or a big man and a great foul shooter. I would love to see Jeff design more plays for dirty Kurty. Call me crazy but I think Kurt could be a 20 and a 10 guy (20 points 10 boards a game).

Durty Kurty put up some nice #'s at the end of the season, but I thinking your giving him too much credit. He's not Brian Grant or Antonio Davis and this is not college basketball. He's a nice role player that works hards but will not dominate. If a good deal were to come along from Portland I'd swap him in a second. Now is a good time to deal him since his value is up.
Come strong or not at all!

I don't know about this Fordy. Kurt is a self proclaimed black hole on offense, and to put up 20 points a game he would have to get alot of opportunities (unless he gets alot of his points on offensive rebounds). I don't think the Knicks could run the offense through him and have the rest of the team involved. A passer out of the post he is not. 20 and 10 are all-star numbers. Are you sayig KT could be an all-star next season?

Thomas is a solid pro, but not an all-star. He will average 10-12 points a game as well as 8 boards, which we should be pretty happy with. The key is that him and Camby are both young and can still get better. In other words, i think we have to be satisfied with them as our two starting big men for the next 6 to 7 years.

Six to Seven years? they are 26 and 28 respectively, they are not "young" they are in their prime right now. Improving for maybe a year or so, but these next 3 years are the peak.
