Jackson may look at Bernie Bickerstaff, whom he knows well, Del Harris, Brendan Malone, Paul Silas and Don Chaney as top-assistant candidates.

Post is a crappy paper but I found it amusing.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

I remember few years ago I got to the point where I almost hated people like Chaney & Kurt Thomas, and now I even miss them... but your signature already says it all, lol. Bring Chaney back!

Its a sad state of affairs when the good ol' days involve KT and Don Chaney. BRING BACK KEITH BUCKETS! He was 5 in the NBA in scoring in 2002! He still got some left!

and I think there might have been some who said KT could never be on a championship team. He may just get his ring!

And if he does, we probably ought to have a man up! thread for everyone that hated/despised KT.

I think, for this roster of malcontented, me first, lazy, losers....(to the degree we cannot dump most of the roster), it starts with bringing in quality people, tough people, serious & competitive people. That goes for players & coaches we should pursue.

I remember people blaming the Knicks record on KT. Saying we just needed to be rid of him to get better. What a load of crap that was. He was a hard worker and brought it every night. He wasn't above the rim but he played D, got his rebs, and scored 10-18 per night.

The good ol' days were when Don Chaney was an assistant coach kiddies. He was highly regarded in that position. He probably still is.

If you got taken out by security in handcuffs, you should only come back in with security and handcuffs.

did Chaney do a bad job? I seem to remember we won 37 games after McDyess went down. Our frontcourt rotation was Kurt, Spoon and Harrington at the 4/5. We led the NBA is 3pt %, 3's made, fewest TOs and FT%. I thought given the roster Chaney did a great job, and we were in every game. We havent seen a team play half that hard in Isiah's years here.

Chaney was definitely better than Isiah but that's not really saying much.

Don't forget. We also beat a lot of great teams that year, and won some games we definitely shouldn't have. We beat the Spurs twice, along with the Lakers on the road. We had a crappy ass team who's best player was a 32 year old Allan Houston which is not good, yet they busted their arses every minute.

Don Chaney was also a basket case. After a loss he looked like maybe someone should follow him home so he didn't kill himself.

Lenny Wilkens, Chaney, and Herb all at the very least had the team playing a style.....that's what the Knicks need right now.

Lets just hope we can get a guy young and talented enough to grow with this rat pack organization.....and lead a turn around.

Let's Go To The Basket Case Videotape

EnySpree - if Don Chaney appeared cheerful after a loss would you be critical of him for looking too comfortable, or would that translate as a sign of complacency?

[Sarcasm]Yeah man I would have liked him to be more cheerful and possitive like Isiah Thomas......Isiah thomas is my favorite.[sarcasm]

Don Chaney used to be almost trembling......he was a basket case. Losing doesn't sit well but his experience with the Knicks was killing him......he was also pleading with management to give him help. Sucks but I just hope with Donnie here things never have to get that bad again.

Chaney was not nearly as bad as NY fans make him out to be. He had a horrible roster that played hard every night. I defended him then and will defend him now, he got the most out of what he had.

What should their record have been?
I just hope that people will like me

I can't believe that Chaney would ever come back here- for pride's sake. The way the org. treated him on the way out was unforgivable. Brendan Malone too was unceremoniously dumped.

Del Harris would be an awesome assistant to have on the staff.
