I hope their is some BS coming out of his mouth or it really seems as if
A. Curry is the C here[can dominate wants to know more etc..] and Randolph is the PF

although in the same sentence it sounds like he wants a finesse team

sounds like a PG in the draft?? The PG spot sounded like the biggest theme

crawford good player but to small

My own opinion--I don't know what the NBA guys are watching but the teams with bigs i.e Chandler Duncan Gasol KG--the teams who are playing rugged defense and guarding the rim are the teams that are doing well and will win the whole thing. The NBA has changed a little bit but the bottom line is the teams who play big time defense are the teams winning championships. The teams with flash like Denver and GS are not in the same league. Overall I honestly did not like what I heard--he seemed very indecisive and resolved that the scouting staff already in place with the Knicks are making the calls on the draft. I listened with an open mind but I really don't know if the game has passed the guy by and he is compensating by stating the game has changed we need to change with it. The game changed a little but Magic will always be right--defense and rebounding=rings. Soft teams are going to be eaten b y the teams with the tougher bigger players at crunch time--another example is how Orlando is wiping out Toronto---soft style teams don't win. Sorry but I hope he was spewing BS.

Didnt hear the interview so I'm kind of speaking blindly, but he's not going to publicly say he's shopping Curry and Randolph. Besides, both are very hard if not damn near impossible to move anyway. I think we all need to be prepared to see both Curry and Randolph back unless something unforseen happens on the horizon.

If PG sounds like the biggest theme, if no Rose, I wonder who we take? No way are we going to reach and take Augustine or Collison to 7. I'm thinking Bayless or Mayo if no Rose and pg is being stressed.

I don't know. It sounds as if a guy like Anthony Randolph would be taylor-made for a faster team nad a guy who could help Curry with shotblocking coming from the 4? I do think he may want to get rid of zach but seems to be resigned we cant???? because of his salary--it sounds like he needs to watch about 100 more Knick games.

Even if he thinks PG is the position of most need, that doesn't mean he's looking to draft one.

we can trade D.Lee for John Salmons, that would sure up our ball handling duties and a lil scoring too.
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Walsh praised all the crap on the roster. I find it hard to believe he likes most of he guys considering they haven't been contributing to wins. Regardless of the system he thinks wasn't helping them, he will (hopefully) try to trade most of Randolph, Crawford, Curry, and the rest.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

You must realize Walsh always doubts himself and will wait until the last minute to get things done.

Its doublespeak. Last week, he spoke about how this roster was unmotivated, inconsistant, unispired and flat out didn't try in most games. During the day he was hired, he suggested the parts just dont fit. He knows he has a junkyard assortment of players on this garbage team. He's trying to squeeze some value out of these players.

I think it was on 1050espn. I just heard it. He thinks Stephon played well last year and wants him to make a full recovery for next year. It looks like he plans on bring the entire team intact. Oh boy I hope he has some moves up his sleeves. He seemed more interested in talking about the boxing fights then the Knicks. Oh yeah the Knicks will pick a point guard in the draft.

I'm not really sure what kind of moves everyone wants Walsh to make. He doesn't want to hurt our 2010 cap and the only way to deal some of these **** players that we have, is to take **** players back. I'll drive Curry/Randolph to the airport if Walsh can trade them, but I don't want **** contracts back.

I have no problem with what he said. I like the fact that he said that Curry could use a defensive minded coach to help him develope. From that I get the feeling that Mark Jackson might not be hired here. That could mean he is Looking at Tom Thibodeau which I feel would be the wise choice.

I don't know if this job is right for this man. He certainly has the credentials but it really sounds like a guy who is not ready to create a vision but rather just get the pile of bones somehow to work here with cap space as a benefit for someone else if he cant. He was a semi-retired guy in Indiana and now he is going to rebuild this disaster with the main GM being Grunweld or whatever his name is and the same scouting staff at 67-68? I mean there is a very plausible scenario that IT still has a huge hand in what happens personel-wise behind the scenes. I don't know--have to wait and see. I really do think that the Knicks believe small alterations can change what they have here to a winner--that they already have the key parts in place. blah it did not sound swell

He can't come in here and trash his roster. He has to use the pieces he has to make it better. He can talk about general themes and that will give you an idea of what he might do. I think he saw the need for athletic bigs back in INdy when we killed the aging Davis Boys and Smiths with Camby. He knew to get a O'Neal, try for a Bender etc.

If he publicly trashes the roster, that hurts whatever trade value they might have.

I think you try to get it to work if you think the dysfunction with Isiah corrupted his play. YOu try to tweek it and build some chemistry with what you have AND AT THE SAME TIME try to make deals should they evolve.

Eddy pre Zdumb was pretty effective and there is no reason he can't return to form. Perhaps Zdumb has to go, and you bring in some PG help (I like TJ for Zdumb, then draft a rookie PG, and use Marbury at the 2 off the bench.)

Long term you will lose Marbury off the books, or trade him, or banish him to IsiahExileland. If he is motivated he might be serviceable for a time..

But to pick DW a part based on your desire to blow it the hell up, which would be nice just is not gonna happen in an interview.

Draft position will play a big part in the decision making. Meanwhile it can only help to boster the value of the players on the roster and try to repair what must be a fragile self esteem for them. They did only win 23 times!

Think Donnie does not know we suck?

Absolutely. I certainly wouldnt do it. At the same time it really does sound like he could stand to watch the season on tape. I was hoping for a new decison maker with a vision. It sounds more like he's going to try to make the current team better and the back up plan is cap space in 2-3 years. I don't know how that will be done if he pays Lee Nate and Crawford opts in.

Briggs... Walsh hasn't made a single move yet, can we judge him by the moves he makes instead of the things he says on talk-shows?
