Nalod, thank you. I'm actually considering moving down there. It's a very slim chance, but I am trying to get into school for veterinary science, and if I can't do it here, I very well am gonna have Gaston College as my backup. My friend lives about 20 miles from the campus supposedly, so I'm gonna check the place out. Hopefully if it's too late for me to get in up here, I can get in down there at least.
Cost of living in the south is great and I have really enjoyed living in NC. It suits me just fine. Pace is slower but you can move fast if you want and get a lot done. So many transplants have moved from all over the country its become more diverse and the food has really improved over the last 20 years also!
Bottom line is for me is family and we got them to all move, plus you make friends and it all becomes home over time. If you can earn a good salary you live very well, save money to invest, and can afford to travel a bit.
I subscribe that if you happy you can live anywhere. But some places are better than others!
Good luck with you endevors and you get into the school of your choice and follow a career path that compensates your personal drive, need to help gods creatures and the value they bring to their owners, and the monetary flow to satisfy your values and reach some nice personal goals.
