KSU Freshman Michael Beasley made it official...he's entering the NBA draft.

Beasley thanked his coach and the University at an afternoon news conference.

After Beasley's announcement, KSU Head Basketball Coach Frank Martin said Freshman Bill Walker has also declared for the NBA draft, but Walker will not sign with an agent. That leaves open the possibility of Walker returning to Manhattan.

Basketball experts say Beasley could be the top pick in the June 26th NBA draft.

Martin says he has urged Beasley to go pro because he has a chance to secure the future for himself and his family.

i think Nicolas Batum, George Hill & Goran Dragic have been the top sleeper picks out of the '08 draft so far... Walker looks good but he needs to look good on a winning team to be on the level of those other guys.

I don't know if Batum is really a sleeper. I remember many scouts liking him more than Gallinari as the best international prospect in a weak international crop based on potential.
