The Knicks right now are just a bunch of contracts......nobody is a keeper and there is nobody here to really build around....

With that said, how do you want the Knicks to look?

Is there a team throughout history that you would like to mimic?

Is there a particular style you would like the Knicks to emulate?

Do you like a point guard dominated offense? A post up offense? One mega perimeter player with role players around him? A fast breaking style offense? Defensive grind out the clock? Balanced attack? Guard heavy? Big man heavy? Coach call all the plays? Play on the fly?

This is a fun time to be a Knick fan cuz the Knicks simply do not have an identity. As of right now, we are all in limbo.

Again how do you want your team to look/play?

No fat guys, shirts tucked in, sneakers tied, white headbands, never wear St Pats green uni's, have a point guard, and no marbury.

I want them to play hardcore chaotic defense so tight even the fans might have trouble breathing. I want to see the mop boy come out and wipe off the court during timeouts, free throws and fouls whistles. It means Knicks playing 100% hard and with effort and pride.

Work hard, play defense, play as a team. No me first cancers, no losers with ****ty attitudes, no lame starphuck trades. Get basketball players that want to win, are disciplined, clean with good work ethics. No rapists, druggies, zombies, freaks and definitely no intern molesters. Above everything else no MAX CONTRACTS that dont have performance related clauses in them. And while I am at it absolutely no trading of draft picks.

Oh and NO DOLAN.

Is there a team throughout history that you would like to mimic? - 90's Bulls would be good, but I'd settle for last year's Golden State Team.

Is there a particular style you would like the Knicks to emulate? - I want them to get a Rose or the closest thing to it and run, run, and run some more with players like Nate, Balkman, Chandler, getting major minutes, JJ2 playing a Diaw type center at times to get some use out of him. The fattys can stay in the buffet line and out of the games.

Do you like a point guard dominated offense? A post up offense? One mega perimeter player with role players around him? A fast breaking style offense? Defensive grind out the clock? Balanced attack? Guard heavy? Big man heavy? Coach call all the plays? Play on the fly?

- Point dominated if we can find that point
- Post should be scondary option
- Perimeter players like Craw, Chandler should be driving with no fatty in the lane
- Fast Break please, coaches are for defense and crunch time
- We could center the team around tough slow players, but I don't want to watch that.

Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Play defense, play hard, play with pride, don't quit, share the ball, work as a team, and show respect to the city and the jersey you wear. Oh, and don't laugh after every loss.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Well what i want is kickass defense first and foremost. No layups, don't leave Finley open in the corner with a chance to win it damn it! I want a coach that will call plays from like mid3rd quarter to the end of it. I don't want us to try to come up with plays on the fly until we get a real PG. as far as what kind of offence it realy depends on what type of players we bring in.

Do i want our SG to run off of screens for open shots - yes. Do i want our big man to pass it out to the perimeter- yes. Princeton offense sounds good to me, DLee would excell in that kind of setup and i suspect so would Zbo. It would prolly help hide Balkmans and JJ and Mardy's lack of shot. You also don't need a PG to run it, all the better. Thing is are there are any coaches out there (other than R Adelman) that know their Princeton offense? I'd love for us to try the uptempo game, i think Lee could be our PG in that scenario. I think he throws the outlet pass better than anyone else on the team. His ball handling is not too good tho so we'd need other ways to make it work if we choose to go that way. Did i say i want a real coach? I really do. And i don't want no more heavy big men ! sry, eny i know you meant it differently but had to say it
Everything you have ever wanted is on the other side of fear- George Adair

Ok so the majority of us just want the Knicks to go bezerker on that ass. If so the Knicks need to trade accordingly.

Knicks need finnishers. David Lee, Balkman, and Wilson Chandler are our most explosive finishers. Curry is a good finisher but the dude should not be counted on to be Patrick Ewing cuz he's not. He needs to be made into just a reciever or traded. Zach is not a good player in the fast break game. He holds the ball too long and likes to talk to the refs instead of playin ball.

Solution: Curry to Dallas for Erick Dampier......I didn't work out the kinks I'm just throwing the idea out there. Dampier is an excellent trailer and his chippy baskets, picks, rebounding and blocked shots fit NY more than Dallas. Curry would excell with Kidd and Dirk takin the pressure off him.
Part 2: try to sign and trade for Josh smith...maybe atlanta would take zach randolph and this years pick. Atlanta doesn't have a post threat. Zach is a post threat. They like Horford @ center. They got Bibby and Marvin still. Maybe even a resigned childress.

Nate is bottom line the fastest player in the nba. He also has that stamina all the way until the final buzzer. Craw is magnificent in the open court game. Knicks need a real point guard and a shooting guard that can hit the three.

Solution: sergio rodriguez of portland. Kid needs his own team. Portland is screwing him. In an uptempo team he would excell. Signing JR Smith....if the Knicks show this kid they have a spot for him and want him to be apart of the greatest comback in sports, he will come.

I'm just throwing ideas around cuz I too would love to run the ball down every single teams throat and scrath their hearts right out their chests!

David Lee/Jared
Josh Smith/ Wilson/ balkman
Dampier
Sergio/Nate
Craw/ JR Smith

In my mind I see a team like this flying! On defense they are long and quick enough to close lanes and pick up mistakes. Anybody I didn't mention doesn't ****in matter.

Just my imagination.

Larry Brown's Pistons. Lots of talent but no mega star. Lots of hustle, dominating defense and unselfish play.

Playing the right way.

I dont see the Knicks getting a Lebron or Wade cap space or not. But I do think we have the kind of money and resources to collect a group of talent (possible overpayed) guys on the same page.

Just for poops and giggles:
PG D Rose
SG Michael Redd
SF Ron Artest
PF Okafor
C Nene
bench: W Chandler, Crawdford, Gadzurich

Thats not a goal.. but filling the roster with good talented players who will work hard and play hard. Well coached.

Use the Garden $$$ to take on terrible contracts back, eat them and play the good player attached to it. We payed $37mm for Jalen Rose. Lets use that resource smart. Just a thought

The right away according to who? Next-Town-Brown? There are other "right ways" that produce winning basketball. A run-and-gun team can pruduce winning basketball (Lakers of the 80's). Phil Jacksons Triangle offense. The Bulls were a defensive team that for the most part was dominated by a one-man-band on offense. Not trying to pick on you Fish, I just used to cringe eveytime Next-Town-Brown uttered the words "Playing the right way" as if his way was the only winning way.

[threadjack] playing the right way is a philosphy...where the ball moves, everyone has an important role and team first is the most important aspect. his team indy as 10x different than his team in philly. he has coached many different players and egos and he's managed to be successful in all situations except here. so his "playing the right way" mantra is not about this player does this or that player does that...it's about everyone sacrificing for the benefit of the team.[/threadjack]

+1

That's why I hate Curry, the guy is talented but his lack of effort on the court and his lack in dedication into becoming a better player is just waaaay to damn annoying.
