other than Lebron or Dwight Howard i can't think of another player i'd rather have on this team over the longterm at this point... the kid is a straight up stud & a bonafide franchise player.

Posted by TMS: I'm probably in the minority here, and I LOVE Chris Paul btw, but I like Deron Williams better. |

I'd rather have him as our PG than Kidd or Nash or anyone else. Yeah Nash is unreal and has an excellent approach and attitude but this kid is really special. He has the will to dominate, its just that simple. I think he will win a championship someday. And Kidd prolly never will, his attitude is just a bit off i think.

One of the things he does so well is something we need to see more of on the Knicks - he takes care of the ball. He has 11+ assists and only 2 1/2 turnovers. He's definitely taken over the mantle as the top point guard in the nba from Nash. He's a fine young man and a great player and as TMS just said a classic point guard.

man, do u remember some of the overly hyped projections of Marvin Williams as a future superstar player that year he was drafted on these forums? i'm sure glad i'm not a Hawks fan to have to stress over passing on Paul & Deron that year... but then again, Knick fans aren't much to talk when we passed over Andrew Bynum for Channing Frye, Caron Butler & Amare Stoudamire for Nene Hilario in that boneheaded McKnee trade, & Ron Artest for Freddy Weiss.

Not every team always gets it right. Chris Paul would definately be nice in a NYK jersey.
I just hope the Knicks have the plans worked out by the time Paul is a free agent.......I think Paul is good maybe the best, but all I care about it the Knicks. However the Knicks can get it right it's fine with me. I just wanna see some toughness out there. Subscribe to my Podcast https://youtube.com/c/DiehardknicksPodcast

Posted by sebstar:Posted by TMS:Posted by Killa4luv:Posted by TMS: yeah during that draft i was simply amazed at their ineptitude. HOw in the world do you not take Chris Paul and you have a team full of 6-7 swingmen. It really baffled me, and that mistake has definitely set them back. Imagine what they woudl look like with Paul right now. |

Posted by TMS: Hindsight is always perfect vision. Every team can claim a story about passing up on an all-star, or hall of famer, and grabbing a stiff. It happens. But in this situation it was just that PG was such a glaring need for the Hawks. It made no sense at the time...now its just tragic.
