Knicks do the hustle for Donnie Walsh

Donnie Walsh ponders rebuilding job that could start with removal of Isiah Thomas.
Isiah Thomas' longest practice in weeks just happened to coincide with Donnie Walsh making his first appearance at the Knicks' training session in Greenburgh.

It may be a little late in the game for Thomas to impress the Knicks' new president, who hinted Friday that a decision on Thomas' future could come sooner than later.

"Let's put it this way, I'm not going to put a timetable on it, but I understand that decisions have to be made at a certain point," Walsh said. "I understand that."

NOW THEY TRY: The Knicks are regarded as one of the worst-conditioned and least prepared teams in the league. But yesterday, in what may have been their final practice of the season, the Knicks apparently gave it their all.

"They really came out and busted their tails today," Thomas said. "They've gotten better individually, but as men they've really grown. I'm definitely proud of that.

"I wasn't expecting this kind of effort this morning, but it was good."

Asked if Walsh being there may have had something to do with their effort, Thomas said: "No, I don't think so."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Isiah was so soft with these guys, you wonder why they had no stamina to play on both ends of the court.

And some say LB tried to lose on purpose. LOL

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

He can't beleive the things he says. He must be saying these things on purpose and laughing with his boys afterwards.

He has to be one of the stupidest people on the planet. Can you believe that he somehow is in charge of what SHOULD be the most important franchise in basketball?

I seem to remember that Larry Bird fired him as he thought the team was not well prepared and not in shape.

Isiah is a lot of things but I didn' think him lazy or not competitive.

Am i the only one who is frightend by the below quote section of the article.......

"Walsh has a massive rebuilding project ahead of him and the job may be tougher than what he envisioned. Walsh claims that he has been given complete autonomy to run the organization, which would also include revamping the Knicks' media policy.

However, little has changed since Walsh arrived. Yesterday, his interview with reporters was being monitored by a media relations employee, who was typing Walsh's comments into a BlackBerry. Walsh had said that such practices would stop once he took over.

It may seem like a minor issue, but if Walsh doesn't have the freedom to conduct an interview without being observed by a media relations employee, does he have the power to remove Thomas from the organization and release Marbury? "

I am guessing Walsh will fix the media policy in the summer. He has barely been on the job. Isola is just being a dick as usual.

As for this, who cares anymore what he says? The guy is the ultimate joke. He says they have "become a team" because thy won 3 in a row to improve to 23 wins. What a moron.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

I think he might - perhaps at some level.

He's pathological.

He measures growth from day to day. One day they mail it in, the next day they busted their tails. "Sounds like growth to me", said Thomas.
