Wow... Dolan must finally understand how bad things really are.
By MARC BERMAN

April 10, 2008 -- It truly will be Fan Appreciation Night for Monday's Garden finale against Boston for putting up with this miserable season and still posting 19 sellouts.

It won't be lobster but the Knicks New York Knicks are making an unprecedented offer of free food and non-alcoholic drinks for all fans, starting when the gate opens at 6:30 p.m. Extra vendors will be on hand, distributing free hot dogs, pretzels, soda and water. Hot dogs at the Garden cost $5.00 and bottled water is $3.50.

Yeah, fine, but they should cost $2.00, and $1.50.
And it costs MSG about $0.25, and $0.10.

But like you say, things must be bad.
Can't wait to see how the season ticket renewals go.

"Things must be bad."

Uh, Monday will be the 21st sell out of the year. I doubt they're bad at all. It is a PR move more than anything.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

But obviously a desperate one.

I want to hear the loudest "Fire Isiah" chants throughout that game.

I hope the real Knicks fans use their tickets and go.

A sell out tells you there are no real Knick fans at the Garden anymore.

Free food might be enough to get me to go. With Walsh on board, I feel it might be okay to end my personal embargo against the Garden.

I just want to the crowd to really hammer Thomas with "Fire Isiah" chants from opening tip all the way to the final horn. I mean, I want chants so loud that you can hear it outside on the corner of 33rd street.

Walsh will listen to that. I also want some "Trade Ran-dolph", "Trade Curry" chants and a serenade of boooos throughout the entire the game. I want these players to feel worthless and totally hated by this city to the point they are afraid to show their face in public.

More likely that the kids and tourists in attendance will cheer their lungs out.

Or one of my all time favorites back from that Charlotte Hornets blowout 6 or 7 years ago:

I'd actually consider going to this, but I'm actually going to the Charlotte Bobcats season finale, as I'll be in North Carolina on Wednesday. My friend and I are going to try (ANd probably be very successful) to get very close to courtside, while buying cheap tickets. Hope Okafor and Gerald Wallace and Felton play at least a little. I've always wanted to see them live.

I would only go to this if I'm assured that throwing a hot dog at another person is not considered assault. That human being is Isiah Thomas, of course. If that's cool, I'll get all the hot dogs I can and chuck them at that fool.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

I don't know if I'd trust those hot dogs. There was probably some kind of massive hot-dog recall recently, and Jimmy bought them at 10 cents on the dollar. "Good enough for Knick Fans" says Dolan.

They were already 10 cents on the dollar before the recall.
