Let's be clear. The worst now! Not of all-time though.
I'll never trust this' team again.

There's been a lot of bad teams but when you think of all the off-the-court drama? And sometimes on the court drama? I dunno you add it all together and we're pretty bad.

It all comes back to one man though and one man only: The man who assembled it and permeated a disgraceful atmosphere from the court to the front office to the outside world.

Isiah Lord Thomas

Who has since been stripped of all of his power......which means at the very least we're taking the proper steps to attempt to rebuild from the ashes in the coming years.

We can write all the euolgies we want but in the end as a fan I will turn my head and turn the page and embrace Donnie Walsh and have patience while I watch HIS vision unfold for this team.

The time to hate has passed. There will still be players here next year that I dislike but that's where the patience comes in: Knowing it takes time to sort things out and move forward.

Walsh won't pull an Isiah and that was to fire everyone and try to mindlessly trade everyone. Walsh will take his time and that deserves patience.

The point in bringing up Walsh? Forget the Isiah past. In five more games I will completely turn my attention to Walsh and the future and what we could be in 2 to 3 years time (and it will take that long).

Time to get back to supporting the team and stop lambasting the Isiah era (although, again, when Crawful throws up a patented 2-15 game sometime next year? Yeah, I won't be happy with that. )

Enough with the hate...soon it will be time to celebrate a new era in Knicks Basketball and with a little luck it's going to lead to something fun in a couple of seasons.

Quality post. The picture you painted isn't bleak enough though... you forgot to weight all that by salary. This team is quite literally the worst team money could buy.

I wonder what would be the thoughts say if someone like Isles or myself wrote this article? It was quite possibly one of the most scathing, direct to the point haterade pieces I've read or heard from anywhere or anyone yet. Not nitpicking at you TKF because as always much respects but this article wreaks of pure Hatred.

It had some of the best lines ever...

"At the Church of Lowered Expectations, where Knicks fans have worshipped."

"In short they neither shared nor cared."

"The volatile owner who admitted to having no basketball skills, physically or mentally.”

"Through a seven-year NBA career, he’d estranged teammates in three time zones and had yet to win a playoff series."

"The result, Berri noted, was that you had “four guys pissed off on every possession.”

“He thinks he’s a genius,” says a Western Conference scout. “There are so many people who are happy that this is happening to him—not to the Knicks, to him.”

“Isiah has to start me,” Marbury was heard to say, according to the News. “I’ve got so much **** on Isiah and he knows it. He thinks he can **** me, but I’ll **** him first. You have no idea what I know.” Which reminded you why the self-proclaimed “best point guard in the NBA” was on his fourth dysfunctional team in twelve years. He was a serial coach-killer: Stephon Rex."

“For the money they make, they shouldn’t be so sensitive,” says Penny Marshall, a loyal regular.

“There’s not one thing they do good defensively that’s going to take you out of your game plan,”

“It’s almost like the Knicks have a team that would have been good eight years ago,” said Donnie Walsh

“I like Eddy a lot, but he’s just too big,” says Charles Oakley

“When you run down court and he’s 30, 40 feet behind you.”

Gus Johnson (in budding epiphany): “Is it just a bad team?”

“Let’s just say that they figured out you were here.”

“I almost got lost,” the no-necked power forward joked. But hey, “The game doesn’t start till 7:30. I’m only going to take seven [practice] shots from each spot.”

“If he was [still] in Portland, I guarantee you they would not be so successful.”

“fifteen players, eight or nine cabs,” according to Channing Frye"

“He likes to please whoever he’s with at that minute.”

"I don’t see a Batman on that team.”

It was a hate article, but lets be real everything in it are things that all of us have said or felt at one point during the season, heck I even heard worse.... As he said, in so many words, Isiah hasn't made many friends and basically what goes around comes around.... I for one, don't like to see people humiliated and honestly looking at Isiah, I don't like seeing him sitting on the bench looking the way he does, but Isiah has let many of his employees twist in the wind, and I just can't get that image of chaney being escorted out of the garden by security as if he was a thief... That wasn't cool...

He was a serial coach-killer: Stephon Rex."

that whole fiasco ruined my season and I hated both marbury and isiah for that. At that point I knew this season was toast, but how many of these types of things you think happened behind closed doors that we don't know about...

I understand had someone on this site written this same story, they would have been called haters most likely, but facts are facts.. The written accounts, the quotes all seem to hold a ton of weight..

Isiah's reign was just disgusting!!

part of the point of that article (brilliant presentation of data btw) was that Dolan, Isiah, the Knicks, MSG et al gives reporters NOTHING to write about besides this kind of stuff. It was really a good piece. Rare you can read something so long in print and stay so focused. It was a great piece.

Great article and truer words could never be spoken.

The fact that this franchise wins meaningless games at the end of the year to ruin their draft chances also can be added to the equation.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Take those lines and match it to the title of the article, and there you have it.

It's one of the worst managements of all-time. But we really didn't set any negative records, other than the worst Knick record of only 23 wins (so far). As far as drama, well afterall 'it's New York'.
I'll never trust this' team again.

Well, the Mets hold the record for the most loses in a season. The chicago scrubs haven't won a W.S. in 100 years. The chicago white sux just won a couple of years ago, after waiting 88 years! It took the boston red sux 86 years to win one, so we're really not as bad as some franchises have been.

Look at it this way. Millions and Millions of people where born, lived full lives and never saw a chicago scrub W.S. championship! It could' be worse.
I'll never trust this' team again.
