There is only 2 possibilites I can see. #1 Randolph for Kenyon Martin & a 2nd rder. #2 Randolph & Balkman to the warriors for Al Harrigton & Pierus(S&T).

Randolph for Kenyon Martin seems the most realistic since I don't know if Warriors would want to eat the extra money especially if they don't plan on resigning Pietrus.

As for adding a 2nd early draft pick. There is 3 options, first is to have a star player that another team is willing to give there pick up for. We don't have that option so scratch that. 2 would be to add like 3-4prospects together and package it for a high pick and cap filler. I don't think we have the quality of prospects to make that happen or we might have to give up to much like Lee, Chand,er Nate & Balkman. So scratch that option. 3rd and our best option, would be to take back a big contract or 2 mid sized contracts for an ending contract and a prospect or 2. There are only 2 teams I can see looking to move there pick. The Miluakee Bucks & Portland Trailblazers.

One possibility: Knicks trade Marbury, Nate, Chandler, Morris(s&t) to the Bucks for Simmons, D.Mason, Gadzuic, C.Bell & lets say the #8 draft pick.
Or
Another possibility: Knicks trade Malik Rose & Chandler to Portland for Darius Miles(who we buy out) & lets say #13 draft pick.

Simmons, Gadzuric, Miles contracts all end in 09/10 so t wouldn't effect our goal of having cap flexability for 10/11. Charlie Bells contract runs through 11/12 but he maxes out at 3-4mil which is what some rookies make in there rookie contracts.

The goal would be to try and land Rose as well as center like Mcgee, Thabeet or Jordan. Then have your PG & Center for the future. Next yrs center class is very weak. This yrs center class has 6 legit centers. Brock Lopez, Mcgee, Jordan, Thabeet, Hibbert & Robin Lopez. If we were able to swap Randolph with someon like Kenyon Martin as well. Then we would also have the options of trying to pacage Curry & Lee for a quality PF/C like Emeka Okafor. Or target Joey Dorsey from Memphis, or run 4 man deep with Mcgee/Curry Martin/Lee with Rose as the engine at PG.

maybe we can get wally and a 1st
for zbo
or maybe houston may be interested
who ever we trade with has to be a team that barly made the playoffs or
just missed lottery teams wont want to deal and top teams might not want him and or that pick wont get us a center

We have to see who gets bounced early in the playoffs. The only way we get rid of Curry and/or ZBo would be with teams that realize that they need a post player to move forward. With that said, these teams must have a defensive front court player to cover up their defensive liabilities.

Hopefully the Cavs gets bounced in the 2nd round and see that they need post player to go with LeBron. ZBo with either BigZ and/or Beg Ben is pretty enticing. I would trade ZBo for Wally straight up. Wally would be an ending contract next year.

I don't think it's possible to move Randolph. If the Knicks want another high pick it will equal Marbury rather large ending contract for player with same type of money but more years. Taking 20mm off of someones cap is worth a lottery pick--an example of such is what Boston did with Lafrentz--traded pick 6 to Portland for ending contract and pick 5 for pick 21 and ending contract

Briggs, that's actaually a good call. If we're looking at 3 years from now, we might as well trade Marbs' expiring for a contract with 3 years on it.

Without looking the contracts up, I would think that would be a list of players like Shaq, Kidd, K-Mart... who else has a max deal, isn't playing up to it and has a couple of years left?
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Thats basically what the trades for Bucks or Portland consist of. They would be dumping Simmons, Gadzuric, & Bells contracts and swapping them with younger prospects like Chandler, Nate & Morris. So they would be dumping salary and swapping them with prospects. In exchange we get there lottery pick. Same with Portland and Miles. Though Portlan probably ends up with the #13 pick so only offering Rose & Balkman for Miles seems fair. Plus the fact that they are loaded with young prospects already so just dumping Miles contract might be more of interest to them then adding another young player.

You may be right about Randolph. But I Denver showed a lot of interest at the trade deadline. I think they are looking for a player that can score with his back to the basket and would love to move Kmart and his contract to do it.

Malik Rose & Balkman to Portland for Darius Miles and #13 pick would be a solid deal. Miles is actually better than any SF we currently have and the extra draft pick is a definite plus. I think Miles only has 2 more years on his deal, so he would not hinde us from signing Lebron. Porland saves a ton of cash and could use an experienced player like Rose to teach their young guys.

I think Miles will be out of the league soon.

You must remember if you trade Steph for longer contracts we are paying the luxury tax for another three years. You cant get rid of Zach we are stuck with him

We should be focused on being under the cap in 2010 and we should work as hard as we can to get back our unprotected 1st rounder from Utah in 2010.

Forget getting a lottery pick for a Malik Rose, Renaldo Balkman or Zach Randolph. Are you kidding me? Why would someone give up a lottery pick for an expiring contract. When Boston made that trade they were looking at Sebastian Telfair becoming a star of that trade and felt he combined with the other aspects of the trade made it worth it. What do we even have that could compare to that?

We will be lucky to unload Zach for ANYTHING remotely good. Now that he is basically done with the Knicks, teams will look to rip us off as bad as they can for him.

Portland's trying to seek Medical Consultation to come to this conclusion.
