isn't that a common error? I couldn't even tell from that video that the clock was started too soon. Obviously the clock isn't going to be started EXACTLY as he touches it.

That is a good job by the Atlanta timekeeper.

Home-court advantage right there.

But yeah, Raptors should have won that.

That's pretty bad but this happens to be the norm, it's just that in this case it happened deciding a game. It's always been encouraged by fans and reported by people calling the game that the home team shot clock controller usually starts the clock faster than he/she should. Like when Derek Fisher made the shot against the Spurs with .4 on the clock. SA's shot clock controller actually started the clock well after Fish had it in his hands, he was in his shooting motion before any time went off. I distinctly remember that game, with plenty inquiries of why the clock wasn't started immediately.

It's even worse that this happened in ATL after they've already screwed up a game this yr with poor score keeping and now this debacle. This really wasn't a ref issue, because all they're adhering to is a technicality in the rules that says they can't review clock startage to decide if a basket is good, they can only review if the player got it off in time. Obviously the former plays heavily in the outcome. The worst officiating I saw this yr was in the PHX/Denver game a few days ago. The ref called Raja Bell for setting an illegal screen out of bounds when the screen was never used. Actually no player got close to Bell. The player(I believe Barbosa or Diaw) faked like they were but backed off staying where they were at, while Bell set an imaginary screen. The ref stood under the basket and watched it all unfold and still called the violation. Then Bell decides to argue the call and got called for Tech on top of it. I was like OH MY GOODNESS this is ATROCIOUS.

As usual where is Stern in all of this? Atlanta should be heavily fined. Stern nowhere to be seen or heard from. WCE

I agree with Marv. Plus, the Craptors definitely didn't deserve to win that game. Colangelo sucks!

Yea, I agree, but what bothers me the ,most, if it is the knicks playing or some other team, is the inconsistencies from one end of the floor to another... Now this clock issue needs to be addressed by stern and Atlanta should be fined, but the way the games are called still leaves me shaking my head.... I would love to see the league get away from the ticky tack fouls on one end and then guys getting manhandled on the other end and no calles are given them becaue they are big and strong players and don't act as if they are shot by a 30 yard six....

Wtching vince carter dribble the ball, trying to get by the defender and he gives that flailing of the body as if the guys bumped him with a hummer is just ridiculous... then on the other end, a guys drives is pounded and no foul call....It gets frustrating to watch... Seeing nash get smacked to the ground and no call at all? I was like WTF?

It's funny how our fans are taking shots at the Raps and Colangelo, knowing full well if I SAY UGH got us to the playoffs back-to-back seasons regardless of record he'd be looked at as a diety. I think anyone with knowledge understood Colangelo's plan is a work in progress and he hasn't had a crack at Free Agency yet. First 2 seasons with the Raps he's made them a playoff team, with 1 Division title in his first yr. They've have been bit by the injury bug. 3 of their Top 5 players have missed a good chunk of games in Bosh, Ford, and Garbajosa, yet they've been a solid 5th 6th seed all yr.

Now that walsh is here and Isiah has been dethroned, i wonder what you are going to use everytime a knick fan takes a shot at another team.. I mean you won't be able to say" well Isiah sucks" anymore, and lord forbid the knicks are decent next year.. You won't be able to say shyt like" well look at our team"... I mean, what are you going to do then? just curious.. because, regardless if it is true or not, if anyone makes a comment about another team or player, you always have to bring it back to the knicks, a knick player or Isiah thomas......

I'm probably the most happy fan of anyone, especially since Walsh made it clear in his PC we'll be rebuilding the right way. You want to know who I've bashed other than the Knicks. I've bashed the Bucks putting Larry Harris on par with I SAY UGH as a GM. I bash Jermaine O'neal, I've said Jason Kidd is overrated, Shawn Marion is overrated, I don't particularly care for Richard Jefferson or Vince Carter, I think T.J. Ford is a punk, I think Bruce Bowen is a dirty scumbag, I think Paul Pierce is a Diva, I don't like Kirk Hinrich, totally despise Kobe Bryant and the Lakers. Many of these players our own board has suggested we acquire via trade, not me. I rarely bash organizations vs the people involved with them. I SAY UGH was so historically bad and our roster has been so terrible the negativity was just a product of the results. Once we start getting our Brandon Roys, Monta Ellis, Josh Howards, Andris Biendrins, Carl Landrys, Luis Scolas, Shane Battiers, Amares, Cambys, etc etc etc on this team there will be no room for negativity.
