What's the difference between the two or are they the same thing? If Walsh is only the team prez, is someone else (possibly Isiah) going to be the GM?

I go off job description more so than the titles. If Walsh is Head of Operations for the New York Knicks then he overseas everything concerning this team, that's basketball related. Now in his PC he mentioned he doesn't want to perform a dual role such as be GM and President. He's going to hire someone to be GM and carry out his rebuild plan. The President will hire the GM and Coach, set goals such as player development, winning expectations, cap figures, media policy, player personnel disciplinary actions, approval and rejecting of trades, who to target for drafts, etc etc.

He also said he doesn't have anything specific planned yet besides getting under the cap in 3 years and being a "Competitive team" in the meantime. Also on his interview with Mike and the Mad Dog, he basically mentioned that anything is possible. He has a lot of people calling him regarding their interests in the GM position, MORE than people are interested in coaching the team, which I thought was interesting. He also said that he wants to take care of those 2 positions quickly.

ALSO, during the M&MD interview, he said he got the sense that, based on the questions directed at him about Isiah, that he's causing a bad aroma around the organization AND the city. He also realizes he takes a risk in keeping him because it instantly makes him look bad and puts a lot of heat on him.

Isiah is done.

Wow! It sure sounds like Isiah is done. I guess it's fine if the Prez and GM are two different people so long as they're on the same page.
