No one is guaranteed the 3rd spot. Even the team with the worst record can end up with the 4th pick in the draft (a maximum of three teams behind you can move up in front of your pick). If you have one of the top 3 records, then typically, you will end up with a top 3 pick. However, that doesn't happen all the time.

Boston, for example, had the 2nd worst record last year and ended up with pick 5.

Doesn't matter cause we're either getting the 1 or 2 pick in this yr's draft. Beasley or Derrick Rose will be in a knicks uniform next yr.

Im my opinion, I will believe it will be Derrick Rose then in 2010, Bosh or Lebron will be a Knick.

Team with the worst record is guaranteed no worse than the 4th pic because only the top 3 picks are available to win in the lottery. If we finish with the 3rd worst record, we're guaranteed no worse than the 6th pic. 5th worst record, no worse than 8th pic.

Walsh should tell Isiah that we need a high lottery pick and his ONLY chance of saving his job is to play the young guys and stop giving our vets 40 mpg to try to squeeze out wins.

our vets have done a great job of losing games all year- why mess with success.

There is only one reason to play anyone this time of year- value determination.

Do the young guys belong- Chandler is a yes, Morris is a maybe not.

Do the vets have any potential value- Jeffries has played some nice minutes- he might be tradeable.

They've done a great job losing enough games to get the fifth pick, but I want a better pick than that.

I agree- Crawford should be put on ice- no reason to risk hurting him- I think his value is defined.

But, for Zach, it be nice to see if we can show case him as a team player- I know, hard- but I would tell him - Zach, please look to pass the ball, don't get embarrassed on defense.
