and some afterwards

First off what the heckwrong with some fans who call up saying that the Knicks should be putting more effort into winning games? I saw this a couple oftimes on real gm tooas well as ultimateknicks. The bottom line --this draft pick is critical--If isiah Thomas wants to do anything favorable for the team he will help do what he can to improve our odds--it's all about odds---luck is luck but with better odds--the more luck can be with you.

As for some current players or some fans---use your mind--what value does winninggames now have? Do we honestly have a young secure core in place ABSOLUTELY NO NO NO NONO. If you give a F about the team YOU WANT them to lose every game----this is a PIVOTAL game tonight--we better lose!!!! Mardy Collins and Randolph Morris would be in there until they fouled out if I wascoaching rest of the year.

he PUT a HUGE emphasis on this pick and I mean enormous-like it was an absolute key for the franchise that we get it right--so these last 8-9 games--they better help the man out

I dont give a sht if David Lee and Crafword want to win---they are 70 games to late for that--now go tell the coach to play the young guys

I feel you Briggs.....I think all of us guys here on UK have let go of the whole Isiah regime and understand the importance of losing and its relation to the draft.

I too have witness ignorant conversations at work. Some guys understand but I'd say 90% don't know what the **** they are talking about.

I seriously think if the Knicks had weatherspoon, eisley, shandon, Dudley, scott brooks, Jared, and Q as a 8 man rotation.....but some how were going to the playoffs, nobody would flinch.

A lot of us NY'ers know and love the game and the history......a lot of guys/gals on the other hand are in it just so somebody won't call them a pansy. Just something to big themselves up. Now its cool to say, "you a Knicks fan? the Knicks suck, you loser"....when they win? Like I said, the team can be straight up ass and people would think they were watching the Celtic Dynasty.

I am with you briggs, why win and continue the trend of mediocrity? Lose now and get a good draft pick - winning gets us nowhere right now.

We probably should have been tanking a while ago but at this point it is critical to lose in order to preserve our chances in the draft.

The minority of us understood the importance of losing a long time ago. The Bandwagon gained momentum after All-Star break.

Lee makes a positive impact and should not be playing much now. Let Morris and Malik get his minutes. Make sure we lose the remaining games.

Where are all those people who kept telling us that tanking is stupid and you can't rebuild by tanking for high draft picks or getting under the cap, you know because "It's not your money"?

Funny but that seems to be the plan going forward, set by a guy with decades of NBA experience. I bet those people who dismissed those strategies are going to get in line real fast with them now, probably even talking about them like it's the obvious thing to do.

I remember those arguments back in the day. You claiming you were some kind of fan while hoping for losses. But the results speak for themselves. While you were begging for Lebron James and Carmelo Anthony, I was praying for the 8th seed. Now I didn't get the 8th seed but I was rewarded with 37 wins. And you just can't beat those type of rewards. After that season I was treated to Michael Sweetney and the following season we won 39 games and made the playoffs. It's fair to say we don't win those extra two games and make the playoffs without Elton Brand Michael Sweetney. It's clear that tanking for Lebron would have shattered our franchise. It's also clear that we would not be experiencing the success we are experiencing today without that Sweetney draft pick.

I wouldn't play one guy that will help us win games. Derrick Rose is the next great pg and guys like that turn a franchise around, keep everyone loose and happy and know how to win.

You don't win games with Crawford the NBA's biggest "loser" by playoff standards, Marbury and Nate you just don't we need to revamp our guards and if we win even one more game we could be ****ed

That dude was great to read. I wish he'd come back.

I remember a few years back he was saying he was at the airport and still pulling for that last win, in the last game and said something like 'it ain't over till the fat lady sings'!!!

Didn't you say this yr you could never root for this team to lose? I'm asking for clarification.

Speaking for myself, I would have thought it was wrong, at a certain point of the season. But I think anyone has a right to change their minds.

um, when did i say that? the statement was when i see them fighting & giving an honest effort during games & playing hard, i find it hard to keep rooting for them to lose.

i was 1 of the first to advocate tanking games in favor of going after more favorable lottery positioning & got plenty of flack over it.

I was hoping for 0-82 in 2002-03, but it just wasnt meant to be. That year we could have unloaded something nice.

Sprewell was tradeable. Houston had the contract, but pre-ijnury still tradeable. Kurt Thomas. I remember the day McDyess blew out his knee I wanted them to just pack it in and tank. Oh well. We prob would have taken Darko anyways.

I don't care what people think. People are stupid. - Charles Barkley
