As the calendar flips to the final month of the Knicks' season, the future of the franchise remains very much undecided. That's because the man James Dolan has asked to lead the Knicks out of their seven-year misery, Donnie Walsh, still is undecided about coming to New York.

"That is definitely the situation," a person with knowledge of the negotiations told Newsday Monday.

As such, Isiah Thomas' future also remains undecided.

A "broad agreement on parameters" between Dolan and Walsh has been reached, but there are several details yet to be completed. It should be noted that Walsh, who is a lawyer as well as longtime CEO of the Indiana Pacers, is negotiating his own deal directly with Dolan and other members of the Madison Square Garden hierarchy.

I wonder what Stern will say about Dolan "wanting to win" if this falls through because James L. Moran wants to keep Isiah Thomas around.

It certainly seems like Walsh knows what he's doing and is only going to agree to something that he thinks will allow him to rebuild the franchise.

If Dolan put himself in a hole it is a pleasure to dump a load of sh...t in the hole to give the man what he deserves.
