With the ever intensifying discussion about who should be the Knicks GM, where many seem to suggesst Colangelo (Jerry?) is the best option. Just to play a little devil's advocate, I was checking the records I have been privy to thus far (Wikipedia, etc.) of "Colangelo" and it credits Bryan with building the Suns, not Jerry. Even Jerry's rebuilding of team USA didn't result in a FIBA championship in 2006.
Not saying he isn't the top choice, but is he any more a "savior" than Walsh? Certainly, he had put out a winning product for much of his tenure as GM, but the last time he won exec of the year was 1993. Walsh has never won exec of the year, although the Pacers made the playoffs 12 out of 13 years he was in charge going into the 2006-07 season, but his team also combusted. Also, Bryan Colangelo was once ranked as one of the worst GM's (24 out of 29) after trading Kidd for Marbury by ESPN.com (http://espn.go.com/nba/s/2002/0912/1430767.html). Forum Po Po and #33 for a reason...
