Thiboudeaux has paid his dues. He's highly respected as a defensive coach, but would need some help on offense - which Mark Jackson was good at. Van Gundy has praised TT up and down and has strongly recommended him as a head coach. Jackson would get some coaching experience, which would help him get the head coaching job he wants.

Mark Jackson is not going to take any job to be an assistant. Remember Jackson turned a chance to be the Pacers coach last year.
