Just watch and witness. Phoenix will win this year with Shaq and Amare. Then teams like Portland --with Oden 7-1 Aldridge 6-11 Lakers Bynum Gasol Orlando will match up and already has Dwight--all of these teams have the two high quality bigs + speed and skill in their backcourts. The Knicks lack size--we can rebound we cant protect the basket--and until we are able to protect---we will go nowhere

Phoenix isn't winning a chip, I guarantee it.

I actually like the suns to win it all, especially is shaq keeps playing this well..... I agree with briggs. get a versatile big, especially one who can protect the lane, and you give yourself a shot to win in the playoffs...

I certainly agree with Brigg's assessment on what you need to be successful in the playoffs, I just don't think Phoenix will win the championship IMHO. For a team that plays a high powered offense, they have no depth; therefore stamina and depth come into play for Phoenix more than any other team. They can't get it done with only Shaq, Amare, Nash, and Barbosa. Their other players are non factors with maybe the exception of Hill. However, their front court is as tenacious as they come.

A versatile big who can patrol the paint definitely increases your chances of winning. That is why Phoenix should be taken more serious this year than ever, I just think they'll come up short.

I always wondered why PHO hasn't been able to deepen their bench ala Detroit this year. Or maybe they just choose to rotate only 8-9 guys.

I agree with Briggs. College is producing some decent big men all of a sudden.

That rookie in Sacramento (forgot his same), he's been showing nice signs. He might be able to lock up their center position.

Kaman is a beast, Bogut is still around. Nenad Krstic......I expect maybe Hibbert might be able to do some good things whenever he comes out.

The talent is there....there might not be a lot of dominant guys like Ewing, but there are going to be tons of more than servicable guys playing that pivot.

Phoenix and the Lakers go nowhere without Nash & Kobe.

The name of the game is having a superstar. If they happen to be a big, that is great.

Exactly; you could cite each of the top teams and just as easily say the league is "guard dominate." I don't think the league is dominated by any particular *position* but rather by the players with certain qualities (the obvious ones like talent, hard-working, team-first attitude) at *any* position.

Its a two way street cuz the superstar needs quality players around them to get to where they wanna go. Especially bigmen.

Check dallas. The shot their load for Jason Kidd....now they are trying to replace what Diop did for them of all people. They could miss the playoffs. Dallas needed someone like Shaq or Gasol. They could have even been better off with Curry or Zach also.

Well Dallas could have used Curry, it's not as if they specialize in Defense and Nowitzki draws the bigs outside making it a feast for Curry. One of the few decent fits for Curry on a winning team.

Curry is a bitch and Zach is a hack sometimes......but they need more low post scoring. They got the LJ wannabe but he's alone. Dampier aint ****. Even If Zach or eddy went there to play 25 mins per.....they need give goes perfect with a perimeter guy like Dirk. What sense is having a awesome distributer if they run a offense with one focal point. Devin Harris is already an awesome player.....its just stupid.

We should have picked up the phone after Dallas got man handled by GS in the play offs last year, and offered them Curry - I thought at the time we might have been able to get Josh Howard- maybe it would have taken more - perhaps Curry & Lee- but the fact is, Dallas is very weak on the inside, and a low post player like Curry would do wonders for them.

They have strong perimeter defenders so Curry's inside weakness is covered up.

They're all good passers- imagine Dirk making the entry pass to Curry all game long.

His weak passing would improve just by being around guys that can pass-

He fits their team, or would have.

Now, we'd be lucky to get them to offer us Dampier!

I totally agree with this. Last year was the right time to trade Curry. Now he has zero trade value. No team's gonna be tempted by his low post scoring because of all his other weaknesses. Even on offense (the one half the court he plays hard on) he's just gonna hold onto the ball too long, commit turnovers, and disrupt Dirk's and Josh's game.
