Because we lose our draft pick in 2010 via the marbury deal, I think we should finish the season this year not winning a game, and tank the next season. We could potentially stockpile 2 great young players in these 2 drafts, and then let them loose in 2010 because we do not own our pick. If we somehow land derrick rose this year, with either the 1 or 2, and then draft Al-Farouq Aminu or demarr derozen in 2009. THe 09 draft is not deep at all, and from what i can tell only the 1 and 2 players COULD be franchise talents.

With a second round pick, we could steal Bill Walker from Kansas State. He is not as well known as the people he has played with (OJ Mayo and Michael Beasley) but the kid is a athlete. He would thrive in a running system where he could take off. He is a little small for a SF, but has the athleticism to make up for it. Right now he is a more athletic ruben patterson, but he could become shawn marion but super athletic. In other words, he is a world class athlete (right there with nate) and a decent basketball player. Out of this world potential.

Al-Farouq Aminu is compared to Luol Deng on nbadraft.net. I youtubed him and could only find clips of him dunking, and in all of those tapes he played PF or C. His game translates great to the NBA SF though, because he is a explosive leaper and a fluid athlete. He is great at running the floor based on those tapes. Based on his write ups, his jumper has perfect form and extends to the NBA 3. He is a tremendous hustler/worker on both sides of the floor, so with his work ethic and athletic ability he should be a solid defender. He could very well be a bigger luol deng, but instead of scoring most of his points on jumpers, I think alot of them will come in the paint. HE would be my second choice behind Derozan

Demarr Derozen is supposed to be the best athlete since lebron. This kid is a flat out stud. He can do it all on the offensive end. He can hit the three when given the open look, hits the midrange, and takes it to the basket with the best of them. I saw one clip where he jumped from just in front of the free throw line and almost jumped over someone then dunked it with ease. From the looks of it, he could of taken off a foot behind the line. He has the ability to become a shut down defender, and this could lead to a lot of easy transition baskets. I dont think he can be compared to anyone, because although he has the athletic ability of vince, he plays a different type of game. Vince isn't strong and durable enough to take it to the hole every time, while demarr is. This kid could be the next wade, only more athletic and a better shot.

And we all know about Derrick Rose, so there is no need for me to explain.

With a lineup of
Rose - 6'4
Derozan- 6'6
Walker- 6'6
Lee- 6'9
??

Bench
Nate
Balkman
Chandler

We would be by far the most athletic team in the league, maybe ever. 1-3 we would have the best athletes at their positions, and Dlee is very athletic. If we could somehow get a good defensive and rebounding center, we would be in business. I have heard BRIGGS mention Javale Mcgee alot, and I know he can run, but does he play D? And where is he projected in the draft. I would love to get DeVon Hardin this year with our second rounder, and throw him in at center.

In the east i think we could easily be a 4 seed with this team, and by the 2010 season, Boston will be finished and left with nothing, same with New Jersey. So it will be NY, philly, and toronto battling it out. And a bonus would be if Donnie can get us under the cap by 2010. THen add King James, melo, wade, or bosh and you have a championship contender.

And best of all we would **** over Utah and give them a pick in the 20+ range, while we got high lotto picks the previous two seasons.

But even if my dream scenario doesnt happen, Donnie better blow this **** ass team u
