Which combo guards?

I mean with our high draft pick. We need to rebuild our entire frontline[really the whole frikin team needs to be scrapped]--that is much more important than taking a combo guard and going with what is already in place. I think that the ultimate reality here is we sck very badly and we need to change everything within a reasonable order. I do not condone losing[unless its with 15 games to go to get better draft position[best interest of the team]. Bigger guys are harder to get and take longer to develop than guards.

Briggs, you're right, but Mayo and Bayless may be seriously better than the big men available where we pick.

Very likely in year 1 but I disagree long term. These guys are SERIOUS big men skill players with NBA athletiscm who are underdevloped physically. Both of these players have pick 1 potential next year.

But briggs, do you think that mo williams has the offensive arsenal of a OJ mayo? or the speed and quickness of a derrick rose? I don't know.. what I do know is that I don't want to take a project with a top 3 pick.... I mean will a guy lik mayo have the effect of a mo williams or and Allen Iverson on a team? if it is that of an Iverson, then you snatch his ass up..

I am putting Beasley and Rose as 1A and 1B. Rose is a MUCH MUCH betere DEFESIVE prospect who can truly play PG with absolute elite ahlteic ability. I had question his ability to play the PG position but I now believe he can. Depending on what I thought his character was--I would potentially take him above Beasley.

Im talking anyone else--i.e bayless mayo collison westbrook gordon--what I see out of the skilled athletic big guys are sexier than these guys for what we need.

I am a huge rose fan, but for some reason, I feel that mayo is going to be even a better player on the pro level... the guy already is a committed defender, has very good offensive skills and is a good athlete, but most of all, he pushes to be great and wants to be.. I think mayo is going to suprise a lot of people...

you're probably right- but, if the BPA at our spot happens to be a combo guard, what are you going to do besides put a bullet in your head and cry.

But, there is a difference- and that is our pick will be on a rookie contract and they still have a small % chance of becoming something better than Mo Williams. He's a known quantity. Everyone getting drafted has a chance to become the next gilbert arenas/michael redd. Small % yes, but nonetheless, a chance.

Briggs, I know you aren't calling Rose a combo guard again..
