It's ironic that dolan was said to reach out to Donnie Walsh a few days back, but with just one hitch. If Walsh were to be signed by dolan, then one of the agreements would be that dolan leave, after he signs him.

Not only can we not get quality players to come play here, but now we can't even get a desent executive. With this condition, dolan turns out to be the biggest liability to date.

On the other hand, if Walsh stays in Indy, and let Bird go, how do you guys feel about picking up Bird as GM?
I'll never trust this' team again.

If my goal was to win a championship, I would NEVER accept a job working for Dolan and I do not think any GM with that goal will. Someone with the goal of getting paid big bucks might, though.

I think the bigger issue I pull out of that coverage is that Larry Harris basically got fired for trying to unload his garbage for Zach Randolph.

Zach is so untradeable - he gets GMs fired for thinking about trading for him!

Again, if Harris got fired for trying to trade for him, why isn't Isiah gone?

Arrgh. This is torture. So in all likelihood after Dolan's pep talk, him and Isiah are still buddies. I mean what does it take? Can't the man see that he's lost the players on the bench and his 'vision' of building the team has failed and is unlikely to turn around? I guess if you're smarter than 'third base' he must think you are awesome.

I am not sure if he is a liability. He is tremendously loyal and is willing to spend/invest money. He does not have a good sense when it comes to finding executives. He has chosen the character guy who filled his team with over achieving character players and the charismatic guy. Neither has worked for him. However, he is willing to let a guy run with a plan and will bank role it.

The man is the worst owner in all of sports. I don't care how much money he spends, he is a moron with a checkbook. He is a disgrace to NY, to basketball, to the Knicks, to successful businessmen and owners, and to sports in general. This stupid fat tub of crap has to be the biggest pompous jackass I have ever seen.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

This has been the scenario so far and if it continues, then we are screwed for years to come.

dolan and isiah are like addicted gamblers, who can't stop spending dolan's money at the casino. They really want this to work, with this team and it's just not ever gonna happen.

Dolan has an addictive personality:
A major theme of Jim Dolan’s life is his recovery from alcoholism and substance abuse. Sober now for twelve years, he candidly describes his mid-thirties as “a festival. It was not a festival of love, it was a festival of self-abuse. Like any other alcoholic and chemically dependent person, every binge, every event, is a little more than the one before.”

“To be honest,” he adds, “there are stories that I’ve heard that may be true, but I don’t remember them.”

With his father’s support, Jim went to the Hazelden clinic in 1993.

As does Isiah:
February 17, 2004 - 2:40 am
NY Post -
Thomas said his brother, Ronnie, died of alcoholism.

"I've had family members who've dealt with the disease he's dealing with," Thomas said. "I have a certain sensitivity. I had people in my family die from that disease. It's a terrible disease."

I swear they have an unhealthy relationship- its destructive.

Seriously- they need couples therapy.
