If you look at what Houston has been able to do by playing selfless team basketball and hustling on D...
then you will have to agree that team chemistry and selfless ball is the only way out of the last 5 years of NY Knick purgatory...

Once you appreciate how vital players like David Lee are to winning organizations and team chemistry... you will reconsider tripping over yourselves to trade this guy for unproven draft picks.

P.s. -
Bare in mind that knowing what we know today about Lee's agility and blue-collar work ethic and ability to enhance his game from year to year, it is reasonable to assume that his long term development will exceed or equal the likely performance of most of this year's #6 -#25 first round draft choices....
So please stop pushing to trade Lee for picks in this year's draft... he is the one player on this team that the whole league ranks as having a smidgen of value!

PPS. -
If GMs could go back and draft Lee's draft class based on how these players are turning out what number do you think he would now be drafted???
[Personally, I believe he would go #8 (instead, maybe Frye would go 30th..)]

I agree. watching him last night, he was clearly outplaying Josh smith of the hawks until Isiah deceided to bench lee for some odd reason.. even the Hawks announcers were baffled... they were like Oh well.. LOL

selfless play and team chemistry are always the keys to winning. When you combine that with talent it's when you start competing for titles.

I love David Lee and think he should be one of the keepers. But our issues go a lot deeper than whether we keep him or not.
I just hope that people will like me

I can't think of that many examples where a team traded a hard working double-double guy for a mid lottery pick and it paid off

The only way we could part with D Lee is if we can get a player who can be the cornerstone of the team, someone who we can build around. Those are obviously very hard to come by and i doubt we can trade for such a guy. So if we can trade Lee for 1 or 2nd pick then its prolly worth it otherwise its counterproductive.

Hmmm. This idea in itself is worthy of a new thread!

Dont think thats enough. Teams arent going to part with a potential #1, a mathematical 2-5, for two role players. For a frame or reference check what the #5 pick went for last year: A hall of famer in the tail end of his prime, and plenty of good ball still left.

Lee is only earning back what isiah tried to take away and give to zach. Lee proved he was worth a starting role last year and is going it again. No one can deny his value on this team.
I'll never trust this' team again.

Lee MIGHT fetch late lottery but there is no way he is getting a top 5 pick.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Nope!! Hang onto your best pieces, your unproven young pieces (unless they prove otherwise) and develop them, build chemistry and by the time the money is right, you can offer someone like Lebron a mega contract, thus putting back on the map as a potential team.

One piece at a time and just build. Throw out the hype, get rid of the bums and concentrat on real chemistry. It's the only way. We have the perfect examples, of the miserable and failed Scott Layden and isiah projects. Just don't ever do it again.
I'll never trust this' team again.

And all the more, why do it, when we are projected to be' in the top 5 ourselves?

The first and most important part of the draft is 'to get rid of isiah as GM & coach'.

Otherwise, any of our ideas won't mean a thing.
I'll never trust this' team again.

I'd be willing to do a trade where my scenario brings back Mcgeee with my pick and Randolph from Lee---that would likely mean getting a number 8-10. That would give me my two long athletic frontcourt players with huge ceilings with bonafide skill sets shown on the major college level. That would complete a half team rebuild right there. We could easily compete with a Ron Artest MLE and two players like this for the bench[and eventually starting 5-4]
RIP Crushalot😞
