Before this season Isiah said that Balkman was untradeable now it looks like Isiah does not even want to play Balkman. I really don't understand why Isiah acted as if he had plans for Balkman only to not even include him into the game plan. What do you think about Balkman's future as a Knick?

Isiah is a man without a plan. One minute you are a great player in his mind and the next you might as well be dead to him. Thats the problem with Isiah he doesn't have patience gives up on player on the whim. That is reason enough to fire him because everything he does is basically for a do over. When you are the GM every move should be made with the purpose of making things work for a long term.

Forget about Balkman's future with the Knicks. He should be worried about his future with the NBA, as its diminishing very fast.

He needs to work harder than "hustle harder".

What a scrub.

Yup, he'd be a great fit for a team that is looking for someone that can literally hit the open man.

Isiah supposedly wants to go with a quicker, more uptempo open court style & phase out the bigman according to his projection of the current NBA trend, & what does he do? he phases out a player who's game is best suited to play in an open court, quick uptempo style... brilliance, sheer brilliance.

His lack of a jump shot kills his value. If the Knicks are a halfcourt team with Eddy and Zach he has no value on the offensive side of the ball. He also isn't impacting the game this year like he did last year.

Zeke mentioned something about Balkman being the type of player who's production drops off significantly when he is not completely healthy... something like his effectiveness comes from his ability to play in his special brand of controlled turmoil... when he's not %100 he loses that careless edge.

"Probably more so than anyone, I think he's been affected by the injuries in terms of little nagging injuries," said coach Isiah Thomas, who theoretically has a vested interest in Balkman after being criticized for taking him with the 20th overall pick in the 2006 draft.

"He's such a frenetic player in terms of using his athleticism, and when he doesn't have his feet underneath him or he's got a hamstring or back, it really affects him more than others. I like the way he's playing when he's healthy."

LOL at injury excuses. Every NBA player battles some sort of ailment at one point. Balkman isn't seriously injured and it has little to do with his play. He is what he is.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Yeah I have no idea what is going on with that guy, whether you mean Balkman or Isiah.

And, when a guy like balkman is injured it is a big deal. Obviously, when you throw your body around the court like crazy you are going to get injured more than players that don't. I don't think that is an excuse, that is just reality. I don't even think lee has been exactly the same player since his injury last year.

I think a superstar would help a lot of players. Maybe that is Mayo or Rose? Unfortunately, I don't think so, and we will be right back in the lottery again.

I agree I think the Knicks will be in the lottery next year. The Knicks might also need three more years of getting a top 5 pick to be good.

I'm hoping it will just be next year. We all know about the problem with the pick in the year after that...damn marbury trade....That trade might turn out to be worse than the Curry trade, which I have to say, takes the cake at this point.

we will probably be in the lottery again next year but if we're lucky enough to nab a Chris Paul type talent in the lottery the team will have some real promise longterm for the first time in ages... i don't mind losing for another season or even just missing out on the playoffs as long as there's at least some hope our lottery pick can grow into a star player someday that can be a leader for this team... look how the Hornets transformed their franchise from 1 of the worst teams in the league the year they drafted Paul to become now 1 of the elite teams in the NBA... after hitting rockbottom, they got rid of overpaid veterans, committed to a longterm rebuild & built their team around players like Chris Paul & David West, hired themselves a good coach in Byron Scott, made some smart trades to land guys like Peja Stoyakovic & Tyson Chandler to complement their games, & are now reaping huge benefits... who knows if Rose or anyone we draft will ever be a franchise calibre talent the way Paul is, but it's realistically our best shot at ever contending for a title someday.

Balkman served his purpose for Isiah last year. Now it's time for isiah to move on to a new project....

Should've waived Balkman instead of Nichols now that I think about it. But of course, we all know why Nichols had to pay the price instead of Renaldo.
