If the Knicks lose the lottery.....I'm starting to think the Knicks should trade the pick regardless. The Knicks should trade it for a lower pick and a player or an additional pick. Like if someone has a hard on for Eric Gordon or oj mayo.
Beasley is the real prize of this draft. The Knicks need this kid more than any team in the league. Subscribe to my Podcast https://youtube.com/c/DiehardknicksPodcast

Posted by EnySpree: OJ Mayo is the real deal. I would be happy with any one of the top three: Beasley, Rose, & Mayo. After that, its a crap-shoot. If Knicks fall out of the top three picks, I would keep my own pick, but would look to trade a player or two for an addtional pick late lotto or mid first round. "Man, who knows with this team." If Miami wins the first pick, then for us to have a shot at him is to hope we get the second pick. My thinking is' since Miami already has a scorer in Wade, it is possble that they might' bypass him, to get a center.
That's the only shot we have at him, other than winning the first pick ourselves. I'll never trust this' team again.

Posted by bigbeast: With Mayo's 13 #five spot picks, that's a little hard to beleive. The stat upstairs is telling in more ways than one. It's one thing to pick him as our #5 the most times, but for most people out there to pick him in the #5 spot so many times can be argued. Another interesting view here is, of the apporx. 56 sites I been to, about 50 of them consistently gave us the five spot.
So when you calculate it (minus two mocks), most people feel that we have only about a 7% chance of moving up natually. Sounds like we'll be forced to make a deal. [Edited by - 4949 on 03-15-2008 5:12 PM] I'll never trust this' team again.

I dont see this love for Mayo. Derrick Rose has it all over him. I do think OJ Mayo is better than Gordon and Bayless, but by how much.
Beasley is amazing but he is going to have a horrible, me first attitude in the NBA and will be another thug ball player. This guy is arrogant in all the wrong ways. If we did get the #1 pick, Id trade down to #2 in a second. I don't care what people think. People are stupid. - Charles Barkley

With Knicks luck , odds will say #5 pick and they move down to 8th or 9th.

One thing to note: OJ Mayo isn't half the offensive & more importantly, defensive player Westbrook from UCLA is. Mayo & Gordon are really just undersized 2's (w/o the athetic ability that was billed). Westbrook = Monta Ellis.

I personally don't think that mayo will be coming out this year. Mayo can stay at college one more year and be the first pick in the draft next year. None the less this was an intresting rundown of what we might get.

I think the more Mayo stays the more his warts become evident.

I am surprised that people aren't talking about Chris Lofton. HE is the real sleeper in the upcoming draft.
But the Knicks need a PG BADLY...and at that position, Augustin is the way to go. |

Posted by EnySpree: There is about two chances the Knicks get Beasley. One if thy win number one overall and two if Seattle win the the number one and the Knicks win number two. I don't see Seattle taking Beasley who is basically similar to Durant and Green. Rose fits the Sonics needs the best. |

OJ Mayo is another Stephon Marbury. No thanks. We need a pure point, not another selfish chucker. He is the last person this team needs right now.

I've mentioned him before--and he's not worth a first round pick, however, he's a steal in the second--but Stephen Curry from, oddly, Davidson is worth a look. He's, what?, the fourth leading NCAA scorer and I'm pretty sure he leads in 3s and in 3s percentage. He was an even 6 feet last year but has apparently put on 3 inches and 20 lbs. He's a pure SG right now but he's scheduled to take over the point for the next two years. He's got the basic skills for it and he might be one of the rare examples of a successful transition. (The current Davidson PG, although not an NBA prospect is leading the NCAA in assists.) He's starting to get some press with the NCAA bid but I haven't seen anyone mention what was obvious at the beginning of the season--against NC, Duke, and UCLA, Curry was clearly the best player on the court. I've never seen a college player out shoot, say, Alan Houston or Reggie Miller and the kid always guards and shuts down the other team's best player regardless of size difference. His current game is old skool but he has the speed and ball smarts to play with anyone. I'm not the only person who thinks Curry's going to have a long NBA career. Anyway, Davidson plays Gonzaga in the first round and it's worth checking out Curry.
