Bruce Bowen has garnered a suspension for stepping on the nuts of Chris Paul.

Bruce Bowen of San Antonio, who has the longest active consecutive games played streak in the NBA, won't play Friday night after he was suspended earlier in the day.


The Spurs are in Detroit for a game Friday night.

Bowen was suspended one game without pay for using his leg to hit New Orleans Hornets guard Chris Paul in a game Wednesday night. A foul was called on Paul in the third quarter and Bowen retaliated with his leg.

Bowen has played and started 500 straight games, the most in the league. That honor will go to Andre Miller, who has 431 consecutive games played and 430 consecutive starts

It's comical how Stern has allowed him to violate players for yrs, which ultimately has led to this. I feel the only reason he's getting suspended is because of who he did it to.

Yeah he has a long history of bush league moves. It is surprising that no one has taken a swing at him.

The consecutive games played doesn't matter anyway. A.C. Green set the mark at 1,192 games straight.
