Kinda interesting on why one has done so much better in his career when they were compared as being the same players. Huh

If you notice, starbury took on more attitude over the years and ended up being ineffective. And Iverson, never got that ring, but lead the league in scoring a few times and got an MVP award.
And if you notice also, it's kind of ironic how both played under Brown. Iverson had some trouble with Brown, but it didn't turn into a disaster. And with starbury, they didn't even last one year together, costing the Knicks 28 mil. Very telling stats. I'll never trust this' team again.

starbury should never, under any circumstanses be compared to anyone- ever. He is truly a 1 of a kind, unique person.

I will say this. Both guys were just electric, athletic young players. Marbury did help lead the wolves to the playoffs his rookie year, and both guys had all the physical gifts. I guess marbury just crumbled with the mental aspect of things.. I really hate that for him...

Marbury ended up being a victim of his attitude. Iverson had his issues but matured slightly. If Marbury had to eat some humble pie during his time in Minnesota, things may have been different.

Marbury was a better player then AI when they started their NBA careers.
AI has a Indomitable personality so his surroundings never effected his talent. Marbury was the cearly the opposite, which is why he would rather try to find the perfect place to play then make the perfect place to play. Marbury was not even close to being better than AI when they started their careers... AI won ROY in '96 & put up 24 / 8 / 4 / 2 #'s vs. Marbury's 16 / 8 / 3 / 1... yes, Marbury had to share the scoring load w/KG but AI also had to share the scoring load w/another 20+ ppg scorer, Jerry Stackhouse that year... AI has put up consistently jaw dropping statlines since he came into the league & did so for a championship contending team in the process... Marbury absolute best season he's ever had in '01 doesn't even beat AI's rookie season totals.
i'll agree w/u on the parts about their personalities tho... AI has that "F you, i'm gonna do it with or without your approval" mentality... Marbury has the "F you, i'm great, i don't gotta prove nothin' to nobody" type mentality. After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

One more thing about that last part. IA has always backed it up.
I'll never trust this' team again.

funny thing was i remember having debates w/a few posters on this forum about how Marbury wasn't even in AI's league just a couple seasons ago... can't believe anyone would rank those guys in the same class as ballers... AI's going to the Hall of Fame... Marbury's already in the Hall of Shame.
