All along I never believed that even if we didn't stupidly trade our pick that Isiah would ever have picked Noah. He's just not Zeke's type of player. However, I think this guys had a good chance of being the pick. Thaddeus Young. Then again with Zeke, you just never know.

MPG 19.4
FG% .55
3PT% .36
FT% .72
RPG 4.2
PPG 7.7

Not earth-shattering, but very solid percentages. I'd like to see how he develops.

Isiah drafted David Lee, y wouldn't he draft Noah? they're both out of the same program & both are dirty work hustle type players... he drafted Balk who fits that category too.

sorry, can't give u much commentary on Thaddeus Young, never really seen him play.

Noah may be gritty, but he's not "athletic" like Zeke likes 'em.

Because when you draft in the lottery, you have to go for talent ahead of athletic ability. When you pick in the lower half of the first round, you can afford to take more chances, like the Balkman and Lee picks. Very good athletes but extremely raw basketball skills.

Because they already had Lee, chances are good that Isiah would never have drafted Ty Thomas or Noah with those picks. Not with lottery picks and a desperate need for skilled players at the 2 and 3, like Roy, Gay and even Young.
If it didn’t work in Phoenix with Nash and Stoutamire... it’s just not a winning formula. It’s an entertaining formula, but not a winning one. - Derek Harper talking about D'Antoni's System

i was asking about the reasoning behind Panos saying Noah wasn't an Isiah type player.
