In what I hope will address all my points on all things Knicks, I am making this post for the sole purpose of just trying to make people understand things from my perspective. People here have a problem with my posts because they are abrasive and repetitive. I don't blame them. But recently there has not been anything positive to say about the team. In regards to all of that, here is my full opinion on the franchise current and past state of affairs.

The New York Knicks were a prominent team in the 70's and 90's. The 80's and 00's haven't been as kind. Will we see a change of course from 2010 and on? I hope so. But to get there you must rebuild first. Rebuilding completely is the only course of action that can be taken. Trading for shorter contracts and draft picks should be the goal of the team if they ever want to improve in the future, as is ridding of team cancers. Obviously it all starts at the top. James Dolan is a terrible owner, Steve Mills is a terrible Garden executive, and Isiah Thomas is the worst GM in all of sports. Three lethal combinations. Now Dolan's stupidity can be somewhat lessened if he were to hire a competent basketball man to run the Knicks. Forgetting his media policy, all Dolan needs to do is sit back and let someone who knows how to build a team build one and stop getting involved in the team's affairs. I don't know if that will ever happen but I sure hope it does.

So, gather those thoughts and let it sink in. There are many people begrudgingly ready to hand in their fan passes and I am one of them. A team that cares more about the bottom line and less about the opinions of the fans is a waste of my time. An ownership that cares nothing about winning or the fans in general is a disgrace. Why should I waste my time and care if they don't care about me or you or anyone else?

When it is made official that those 28-30 wins that Isiah posts are "evident progress" in his return, that will do it for me until Isiah is fired in 5 years or so. I don't have faith in Isiah Thomas and there is no reason to. It's pathetic and sad that it has come down to this. I used to go crazy about the Knicks, bad or good. I used to get into petty arguments with people here and for what? It was worthless, mindless drivel and I apologize. We were all frustrated and even moreso now. Because when a franchise tests your fanhood, it has gotten that bad. I used to throw stuff at my TV, I used to get all amped, I used to do a lot of things. Apathy has set in. Don't care anymore. At all.

Many people wont be back next year as season ticket holders (especially if Zeke returns) but they will find some other clueless saps who will shell out the cash for a 30-win team. That's the way it will always be.

Also, we must build the team through defense first, not offensive. Building a defensive-oriented team filled with high-character guys who care about winning would be great. But right now, we have the total opposite as the main core of the team.

Right now it looks like Isiah will probably return unscathed and there's nothing anyone can do about it. The Knicks will win their fair share of games this year and celebrate for making a "turnaround" in the 2nd half of the season with the remaining weak schedule. The rest of us? Some will still be here and I admire your ability to take those swift punches to the stomach so well but other more emotional fans of the team will give up for a while because it's just not worth time, effort, and emotional investment in a team that doesn't try hard and an ownership that cares even less than the players.

It's been long and tough. I thought Layden was bad. I was wrong. For the monster that is Isiah Thomas can't be stopped.

Thank you.

I wonder if Isiah gets removed from being team president and is just coach if his contract also adjusts.

Say he was given an extension that is one part coach, one part President?

Also if "substantial progress" was not made if his contract also adjusts in some fashion? This could be why him getting fired during this season was almost non existant.

Regarding any comments about next year, he is right to say he has a contract an expects to be here. ANything else would be foolish as a statement and perhaps against his contract. Remember, we talking about MSG were they don't talk.

Over many years because of media coverage I could be a fan of both the Jets and Giants, and the Yankees and Mets. One was usually more interesting than the other. I was a NY fan first. It was never an issue who played each other!

The Nets played in the ABA and that was our NY ABA team, so I naturally rooted for them. They played on Long Island, so I naturally went to games. That was easy back then.

When the Nets got rid of DR J and moved to Jersey and Sucked for 20 years they became a non entity.

Move back to NY, they are the NY Nets again!

In the absense of respect for the Knicks I could once again follow them.

There you go Jimmy, you left the door open. Smooth move!

that's the thing, dolan, from a business standpoint, must have a turnaround and quickly since the nets are moving to brooklyn. he already knows the reprecussion of this since he tried to block the move several times. ny knicks are no longer the single team to root for in ny. also with jay z a part owner and his ties with management and players, believe me when i say that team will be good when they get to their new home. they are already trading for cap room to make a run for king james so dolan better get his act in order or msg might turn into the world's deadest arena with all the attention focusing on the arena over the brooklyn bridge.

I'm not buying it though. I don't think there isany urgency on Dolan's part.

The part that I bolded is the best thing I have ever seen from any of your post. I feel that, because that person used to be me... Now my wife and kids even noticed a big change. No more yelling at the TV, or throwing my house shoes into the wall, or tossing the remote... It really doesn't matter anymore.. apathy has set in, and taken over..

Bush's State of the Union Addresses are easier to take on than the State of the pathetic Knicks.
