Look over the last two drafts how many kids can average a double-double in the league. Most GM would rather have a player that is proven what he can do in the league. Lee has so much he can learn. He has had no coaching in the NBA, no leadership or anyone to learn from and he still is putting up good numbers. Lee is going to be a 14-11 guy in this league and it will be interesting if the Knicks pay him or let him walk. They paid Jeffries, James, Richardson, Zach, and Eddy and none of them worked out. DO you pay Lee or do you trade him for a high pick next year. I say you sign him and have some continuity, and get rid of Zach and Eddy.

I'd like Lee to stay with the team. The question is, what would it cost to keep him?

I would absolutely pay Lee. He's like an albino Charles Oakley with a not so angry disposition.

It's going to cost 45mm$+ to keep Lee--there is no doubt about it in my mind. He is NOT a max player but the next level down is that 6 yrs 48mm--8mm per that Jamal received. I like Lee's charachter--so it would have to be an awful good deal as in top 5 pick this year--nothing else.

If we're keeping him we need to pay him a fair market salary. We should wait to do so, not in case he and his agent are hard up to getting a deal done now, but don't go over board. I'm not opposed to trading him either.

Lee is not the guy who is dead-ended on big $.
He has enough money and looks like he knows that there are a lot of thing in live money cant by.
If NY will became a decent place to be (not the mockery it is now) he will stay.
If it will remain this stinky mess, Lee will go; even if Dolan will pay him max money.

I say we re-sign him and keep him. Not because he is a walking double double when given minutes......

Its because after interviews when the Knicks win, he looks in the camera and says "Go Knicks!" everytime.

its easy.. give him $48-$52 over 6 years and frontload it. Make the first year $12mm. Then if suddenly you want to shoot for cap space or move him in some other kind of trade after his first year he will have 5 years $36mm which is MLE territory making him a bargain and a fantastic chip to either move or just keep as an important piece of the puzzle. Either way its a win win for us and a win win for Lee.

I think Lee is worth 45-50 million and that is a piece if you put good players around him, and he would have trade value.

i'd easily give him $7 mil per on a 6 year deal if he signs early... otherwise just sign him to a qualified offer & weigh your options later, but i would lock him up now & i think Lee would opt for the security as well... he seems to love playing in NY, i don't see him wanting to risk playing another year at low dollars to test the market later when this is where he probably would like to stay... he's a keeper unless there's a trade out there you can use him in to nab a true star you can build around.

Lee is the kind of guy who can one day be a leader on this team. Keep him here.
I'll never trust this' team again.

I think Lee can be the forward, coach and' GM of this team. Can you imagine? starbury doesn't feed anyone the ball in the middle and Lee trades him the next day?! I'd love it!!!

Ill try to trade him for guys like Millsap or Varejao who are better without the hype and would therefore cost a lot less...But thats just me isn't it...

I would like to keep him of course, but I would not give him more than 28 million $ for 4 years or 37 m in 5 years. To me thats more than fair enough.

5,8 + 6,6 + 7,4 + 8,2 = 28 million &
5,8 + 6,6 + 7,4 + 8,2 + 9 = 37 million $
