Can someone explain this to me? Is it just awesome chemistry?
I thought TMac was supposed to be a prima donna biatch?

T-mac is still a biotch.

Its just that the team has peaked. As is they are a perfect unit. This can last a long time and it can disappear and never come back.

Question is......did they peak too early? When they lose can they maintain the same play they had during this streak?

If they win a championship without yao, will they trade him to the knicks for curry and our #1? Lmao!

T-Mac is doing his best to make people forget when he was on the Magic team that lost 19 straight.

Scola for peanuts, would have been nice to add someone like that along with Lee to shore of our front court

Rick Adelman needs to get some credit. He barely ever gets attention for being the excellent coach that he has been in his NBA career.

Yao on the bench is making more for the Rockets that Eddy and Zack combined on the floor for the Knicks.
Huge part of the game is played by the brains and characters but not by the legs and hands.
But morans like Isiah and Dolan are far away from understanding this.

I said they are the best team in basketball right now, which doesn't mean they will win the Shiny Stuff. Last week some were trying to write it off as a fluke and looked at their schedule as being suspect. Then they proceed to beat Dallas and the Hornets pretty easily. If you go back to when they beat San Antonio their only loss was against Utah which would put their winning streak at 23 if they had beat them, that's insane.

It's really amazing yet then again it's not. The Rockets the past 4yrs when relatively healthy with T-Mac and/or Yao they've been about a 50 win team. Then when you add Adelman a proven coach who has been known to take teams to another level with good pieces, usually gets his teams around 50-55wins.

Its no fluke. Although when they had Yao, they only won two impressive games in their 12 game streak. Now they're down a Yao, but playing better competition and still winning.

I credit their continued 'tougher' 6-game streak with the chemistry gained from the earlier easier 12-game streak.

The game against NO was a joke. No defense and just McGrady taking bombs. NO and Houston combined for a ton of three pointers.

You can call the way the game was played a joke but the win wasn't. At the end of the day a Top team played another Top team and won.

Yeah the game was a joke. The win was legit.
But if the games a joke, that must be mentioned.
Remember, we almost beat NO also. So that puts a damper on it.
Neither team played any D that game. Thats another damper.
Just leanding more insight to the board.

Well uhhhh ok but NO has 42wins and are 22gms above .500. Phx plays little to no D but they're contenders. It's really irrelevant to the streak especially when the Rockets beat them at NO a couple weeks prior by 20pts. There's really no need to slight a near 23gm winning streak.

There is a huge difference when team is not paling defense and cannot play defense in general...

today T-Mac will be hailed as the best player in the NBA... tomorrow he'll be an overpaid bum again... this is life on the UK forums.

True, i've remained pretty consistent in how i view T-Mac throughout his entire career.. i've never viewed him as an elite calibre player the way you & some others do now... i didn't hear you or anyone else singing his praises when he was playing on Orlando during their horrid losing streak... all i heard around here was that he was an overpaid bum that people wouldn't even give up any of our assets to acquire.

And I wanted Yao on our team. What a disaster that would've been!
I'll never trust this' team again.

1. Rick Adelman is a very good coach and has been everywhere he's gone

2. McGrady realized how close Houston's brain trust was to thinking he was tradeable for the right deal

2a. McGrady's healthy.

2b. McGrady's playing with players that don't accept that weak prima donna bull****. Remember, McGrady wasn't the one that had a problem with the vets in Toronto for being a bitch. Vince was. It wasn't until he got to Orlando and was expected to lead a youth movement that he had problems. Mac is actually ok if you don't expect him to lead you in anything but scoring.

3. They have a great organization when Les decides to stfu and let people do their jobs, just as he did during the Hakeem glory years

4. Their brain trust understands the importance of role players. Trading Rudy Gay for Shane Battier was a move that made most GM's laugh their asses off at Houston, now look. Gay may turn out to be a spectacular player, but Battier was exactly what they needed. Skip was all but gone, and told to use the training camp and pre-season as an audition for other teams because he was surely going to be traded and the team all but solidified it by bringing in 97 point guards. Instead he comes into camp possessed, Adelman allows him to earn a position and he goes from being 4th string to starter.

4a. Role players like Skip, Landry and Shane are having career years.

5. Daryl Morey is not part of the Country Club/Nepotism/That's My Homeboy/Style Over Substance/Name Dropping mentality that is the accepted norm of NBA hiring practices. He actually knows wtf he's doing and allows himself to think outside of conventional wisdom in scouting players. I don't agree with his sometimes overemphasis of statistics to tell us what we already know, but it works for him and at least he has a plan.

6. Dikembe's all encompassing karma.

7. They put Steve in his place.....home.

Rick Adelman should win Coach of the Year.
