It's all about the tude !
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Wow and I was all about them taking him with the #8 in 2005. I guess he's just Harold Miner. A perfect case for college.

i'd still take a chance on him on a cheap contract since he's pretty much a scoring SF, something we could possibly use... i'd let him, Chandler & Balk fight it out for minutes & completely phase out Jefferies altogether... Q Rich i'd play more at backup SG behind Jamal w/Nate & whoever we draft fighting it out for the starting PG position.

Green is a ****y bastard. Didn't help him in Boston, minn or houston......maybe this will humble him and get him back on track.

The nba has a history of blackballin cats for thinking that someone owes them something......they also have a history of maxing them out too, lol......in greens case, maybe he should put up a seasons worth of good numbers before he starts demanding things.

Jr smith is a good example of this. Byron Scott would have none of his nonsense, while george karl has done his best to bury jr....except jr is now controlling his own destiny with his play.

Anyway with that being said......Saying isiah has to waive Mardy Collins or someone to sign green is the understatement of moment.

the knicks are where they are today for buying into the hype years after every other team has already given up on a player. i'll pass on green.

EDIT: this would definitely be a lower downside move than, say, francis, but i'd still go for a more solid character in a young guy at this point.

I don't get it. Whenever I see the guy, he seems to possess a good touch and range on his shots. He's got all the physical tools to be a stud. I can't figure out exactly what the problem is with this guy from afar, but what would it hurt to take a chance on him? It's not like he could make us worse than we already are. He's still so young that I wouldn't write him off just yet.

WIth guys like him on a team with solid players it's hard to judge him. Those kinds of teams don't have the time or patience to mess with a kid like him. They aren't at that stage of development. They're already well along in the process. Our situation is different.

it's gotta be his work ethic & approach to the game nix, cuz the kid definitely has all the tools to be a great player, but it wouldn't be the first time an amazingly gifted kid never made much of himself in the NBA... he's got phenomenal athletic ability, good touch & range on his shots like you mentioned, but seems like maybe he thinks he's better than he really is... or maybe he's just a frustrated kid over not having been given a real opportunity yet to really show what he can do... i thought he showed some very good signs when the Celtics were playing him for longer stretches... i would definitely be open to taking him on on a small contract & seeing if he can develop into the scoring SF we could really use.

Yeah, i'm not so sure he's another Harold Miner type. From what I saw he was showing some real promise, but maybe he's been caught up in the numbers game or different priorities from totally different Organizations. It's not always the players fault when things like this happen. I think he'd be well worth a look.

I can't believe he was waived. I would still love to take a flyer on this guy, he has some serious talent, just has to get his head screwed on straight. At this point, we are losing nothing by signing him, so we should give him a shot.

100% agree... Marbury's gonna probably be bought out over the offseason & Fred Jones will be gone via free agency... that clears up roster spots to fit our lottery pick & a low risk signing like Greene on the payroll... hopefully another roster spot can be cleared w/a 2- or 3-for-1 type deal, maybe using Malik's expiring as bait to pull it off along w/1 of our yoots other than Lee or Nate... as long as the deal we get back isn't extending past 2010 it doesn't really hurt us capwise, & hopefully it would be for someone who could address our defensive needs in the frontcourt.

What's the big deal if we sign him up, let me practice with us the rest of the season and see how it works out? Maybe his getting traded to Rockets for scraps and then his getting waived by the Rockets will actually humble the kid. This is beyond low risk, this is a NO risk move.
