draft pick Lopez 1 Randolph2 Thabeet or Jordan
sign JR Smith G 6-6 225 MLE for four years 21mm
sign Tyrone Lue LLE
resign Fred Jones to a vet minimum
Release Jerome James Mardy Collins and buyout Marbury

Lets say for instance 10 man rotation

C-Curry
F Lee
F Chandler
G Crawford
G Nate
CF Lopez Randolph Thabeet
F Jefferies or Balkman
G Smith
G Jones
G Lue

We get 2 shooters who can go 45% and JR can step into the 3 as well. We get faster longer more athletic yet we keep some continuity that we have seen the last 3 games and from periods of 2006. No abrasive voices like Ron Artest--just guys who fill roles/holes that we need for very cheap on basis.

What happens to the other 2 Randolphs?

Love the idea of signing Smith, but I dont understand your reasoning behind the other signings.

With that lineup, we'll have 5 guards(Nate, Craw, Jones, Lue, Smith) which none of them can play the point. Lue, Nate and Jones, and Craw to an extent are all undersized for their positions.

No way am I resigning Jones nor am I signing Lue. We need to improve on the defensive side of the ball (which having all these undersized guards aint helping). We need a distributor/playmaker who makes players around them better and none of these moves help in that area.

Thabeet would be a start up front defensively, but more parts would need to be moved. BTW, what happends to Zach in this scenario?

Briggs- that sounds like a typical MSG band aid/ instanta fix move.

We need a franchise talent.

Even if we get said talent this year, it will take them time to develop.

Stop signing players to MLEs- that just inflates our cap number and gives us less flexibility.

Rather than Tyron Lue- go get me an NBDL player to back up Collins.

Lets plan on sucking again next year.

And- the number ONE off season move has to be getting rid of either Curry or Zach.

I think my patience has come to the end of the road and I want to see significant improvement. Im just tossing ideas out there because there are a lot of people who know basketball on this sight.
I do think the best thing is to try to make this thing work over the next two-three year[3 because we lost our lottery pick in 2010] We cant break it down now and go 20-60 in 2 years and have no lottery pick???

that is the kind of thinking that has caused this whole disaster that has been the knicks since 99

oh, we're one part away from contending
we can't wait to rebuild

and now- well, Isiah did this crazy trade several years out, and now our backs are against the wall- we have to be better

STOP

Lets build this the right way.

We just have to bite the bullet that in 2010 we might suck it up and our lotto pick is going to go to Utah.

Isiah as GM is like malaria or something- its the gift that keeps on giving!

we don't need another SG... we only need a PG, a shotblocking C & to develop Chandler & Balkman at the SF positions.

TMS - totally concur

The shotblocking center need only be an aggressive rebounding center to share the load with Lee and The Mayor.

or if u can acquire a shotblocking defensive C via trade or w/the MLE, that's fine too... if we go into yet another season w/o a defensive presence in the frontcourt, we'll be witness to yet another crappy ass season like the ones we've been witness to for the past few years... i'm sure most of us are sick of all the losing & would like to see some W's for a change.
