I was pleasantly surprised by the poise and presence these two players brought last night, considering how little NBA experience they have...
I am really looking forward to seeing a lot more of them.
Hopefully, Dolan continues the mandate to play the ROOKS...

They looked pretty confused out there. Chandler plays with the discipline typically seen in a summer league game.

He deserves a better chance though.

Morris doesn't really matter since there's no chance in hell that he re-signs here after this year after Isiah completely screwed him.

I agree with your take on the 2 players, but I did like the confidence that Chandler showed. What a waste Randolph Morris has been. Zeke's tiny mind really screwed this kid over. I hope we re-sign him.

T-Mac, Camby, Lee all drafted by Zeke... no, doubt drafting is the only thing he is decent at as an executive.

T-Mac is a flashy player that can't get out of the first round.

Camby was drafted #2 overall with better players, like Kobe, drafted after him.

Lee is a nice role player. Did you see that brick from 15 feet he put up last night?

Isiah's drafting skills are overrated.

This post is a freakin hack job! Isles you have every right to bash much of what isiah has done as an executive, but really his draft picks have been pretty good. What would this team have looked like with a Camby and TMac on it? You have to not just look at the coulda woulda shoulda stuff of who else was in the draft and turned out to be good, heck EVERY GM held to that kind of scrutiny has failed to get guys they could've gotten.

I think many of the same players we have now would do well in a better environment. Lee has improved his shot, but one brick isn't fair to judge the guy on. He doesn't get consistent enough touches nor plays run for him. He's not in a great situation here and much of his potential is being wasted. That goes for other guys here too. I'd like to see these guys with a true Point and a defensive center. I think this team has been playing much tougher against teams and the lack of a floor leader has been the biggest reason this team has lost so many games. Chandler and Morris have barely played, so looking a bit shaky isn't that surprising. It doesn't mean that they're scrubs who won't eventually become solid players if given a good opportunity.

How are Wilson Chandler and Randolph Morris going to beat out Jackie Butler and Demetrius Nichols for playing time?

Chandler is a smart player. There was a play in that clip where the Knicks were swinging the ball inside and out. It touched everyones hands really fast where Chandler was wide open @ the three.......he didn't just chuck a three.....he caught the ball and moved in closer and shot the mid-range. WHEN DO YOU EVER SEE THAT IN BASKETBALL ANYWHERE??? I'm sold on him. He handled the break a little and he shows poise and strength inside. I see a starter in that guy. He needs to play everyday.

Morris? Yo, He has real man moves inside. He showed a hook shot, and a turn around jumper. He also has a nice solid move to the baseline. All of this he uses his strength and big body to provide space. He places his body on his man.....Isiah has made a serious mistake not playing this kid. I mean he is gone after this season. He too may become someones starting center.

Like Lee, Nate, and Balkman.....Chandler and Morris are not afraid.....geezus man I hope these two guys remain knicks.

I wrote that in the Knicks vid thread....thought it made sense to transfer it rather than post something new.

Go back and look at those Toronto drafts. Camby was the easy, safe pick. McGrady, even as a high schooler, was an easy pick based on what was left for an expansion team. Carter was an easy pick as a top collegiate player and a high flyer who could sell tickets. Even Stoudemire wasn't that hard of a pick. They were an expansion team that needed a PG, he was the 7th overall with the only player of any note picked after him being Michael Finley at #21.

All 4 were nice picks but they were pretty easy picks that didn't require much basketball acumen to make. There's absolutely no reason to give him anymore credit for making those picks than necessary since they didn't take any extraordinary vision to make.

Lee was a nice pick and I've given Isiah credit for it, but he's very overrated by Knicks fans. He's a very good role player and borderline starter. I say borderline because he has no offensive game and can't be trusted for anything more than a layup or dunk. Basically everybody that Isiah has drafted here has been nothing more than role players. Nice job in that regard but there aren't exactly any Kevin Martin's, Monta Ellis', Andrew Bynum's or Danny Granger's in there. I'm not even including players like Rajon Rondo, Jordan Farmar, Daniel Gibson, Paul Milsap and Anderson Varejao, who are all solid role players on contending teams and all available to Isiah as Knicks GM.

The bottomline is that Isiah has done an ok job drafting players as Knicks GM but based on the ceilings of those players, his drafting skills have been very overrated.
