Two entirely different situations. There is no conspiracy theory to be had this go around.
LB was accused of undermining the team so he could get Isiah fired and be given full control. Given what transpired it's quite likely that's exactly what he was doing. Given that Isiah took the same team to 33 wins - in a year where they were destined to win 38 if the final month of injuries never happened ---- versus 23 wins born on infighting and retarded substitution patterns - proves that LB had an ulterior motive and was playing out an ill-conceived plan to gain control of the franchise.
Isiah on the other hand finally realizes it's over. His team is garbage. He brought them all here. He either can't or isn't allowed to change the entire roster over for a third time. He's been forced to coach them which is something he did not ever want to do.
So he now has given up. He wants out. He wants to be fired so he can collect his full 24M. In the meantime he's going to just weather the storm until Dolan finally cans him and then he'll laugh all the way to the bank. In the meantime he's not really trying anymore and he couldn't care less.
