Is Isiah's work ethic really this bad or is he daring Dolan to fire him?

One thing that doesn't seem to be brought up much is Isiah's work ethic or lack thereof. Earlier in the year he made a big show about how nobody would out work him to fix his team. If that's the case then:

Why does Isiah show up at games barely before tipoff?
Why do opposing coaches look down at the Knicks during pregame shoot arounds and wonder what is going on over there?
Why do the Knicks gets 3 days off this past week, a week that started with a 20+ point loss and ended with another 20+ point loss?
How do they not know that Randolph is questionable for the Orlando game until after it's too late to suit up another player?
Why do the players seem completely unprepared even though the Knicks run a drastically limited playbook?

Where is all of this hard work that we keep hearing Isiah say he and his team does? It certainly hasn't manifested itself during games in any way, shape or form.

Because of that I'm starting to think that he's daring Dolan to fire him. That of course will force Dolan to do something stupid, like keeping Isiah in some capacity, completely out of spite. This mess could turn even uglier than the Larry Brown divorce.

How do you know Isiah shows up just barely before tipoff and what makes you say coaches and players watch the Knicks shoot around and wonder WTF they are doing, even though I am sure they do.

Isola I believe reported about a couple weeks ago I SAY UGH showed up before a game about 1hour and a half before tip-off which isn't necessarily early. Coaches and commentators have openly questioned our shoot around preparations on air.

This was from Alan Hahn's blog. He's referenced how late Isiah shows up at games before.

"Seriously, Big Cat (Eddy Curry), I was disappointed when I saw you stroll in at 4:30 for a 6 p.m. game with the likes of Jamal Crawford (at 40 minutes a night, he has the right) and Jerome James (just here because his contract says he has to be) and, of course, Isiah Thomas, who probably would have showed up at 5:30 if the NBA allowed it. Not when everyone knows there was an earlier bus that you should have been on. Or maybe a cab you could have jumped into with some of your teammates who came over two-and-a-half hours before gametime to get their work in."

I'm going to need a little more time finding the writer who said that he say or talked to an NBA assistant coach who looked at the Knicks quizzically on the other end of the court and wondered what they were doing other there.

THe record speaks for itself.

Isles, I said last week I wonder if quits he can't keep his money, but only if he gets fired, and I wonder what his contract stipulates regarding performance and sextual harassment issues.

There is no way this guy should be still working for the team.

Im sure Dolan has a log of this guys time he puts in down to the minute.

if he isn't putting in the work, then I would think that would open him up to being fired and losing out on the rest of the money owed him.

I thought the rumors out of indy at the time was that Larry did not think Isiah put in enough time when he coached the pacers.

No wonder some of those players swear by him. He's a player's coach, just as long as those players can help him keep his job.

It's all about the self preservation of Isiah Thomas. Isiah is for Isiah.

I said this just a few games into the season that Isiah is looking to get fired. He wants out, but he wants to be out with money in his pockets. Until he gets fired he will continually be finding ways to sabotage the Knicks team. He has already found a way to hurt Eddy's progress from last year. He destroyed any semblance of team chemistry when he went againt the teams vote to not play Marbury. Every thing the fans think Isiah should do he will basically do the opposite to increase the fans spite towards the Knicks. Isiah's goal and only goal is to get fired.

Or maybe he just really is a moron. That's entirely possible.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.
