When does Deke's contract expire? If it is up after Esiley, Spoon, and Anderson's then what is the point. Deke is way on the downward side of his career.

Of course, I'm under the assumption his contract is not nearly as long. As you know, Anderson and Eisley are signed through 2006 and 2007 consecutively.... and I think SPoon has at least two years on his... if not longer.

Nothing I'd like however, than the ability to clear those three roster spots.

If the Nets sign Kidd then this would actually be a good trade for them. Anderson can backup both Kittles and Jefferson. He fits right in to the up-tempo game that Kidd likes to play plus he is a good defender. Eisley would be a serviceable backup point guard. Come on, he can be an upgrade to fat Childs. Spoon is tough and can rebound and he is a hit on BBQs. Just don't ask him to shoot over anybody 6'10" or taller.

Why Deke? Hmmmmm. He only has 2 more years left in his contract. He also has a soon to be expiring contract. We can free some cap money in 2 years. Hmmmm. Is that enough?

You never know, if Kidd leaves, they just might want spoon to run point for them..same height as Kidd.... LOL!!! Thorn is aggressive but he is not dumb. If we put the right to Milos and a 2nd rounder, he might consider doing that....MIGHT.

I think that we should try to pry Tim Thomas out of Milwaukee right now. I love Spree and all but we need to right that ship. We can't have our 2 best players playing the same position.

Spree for Thomas works straight up. Tim Thomas gives us length and defense in the SF spot.

Then use KT on a sign-and-trade with Minny for Nesterovic. This way we can use part of our Mid-Level Exception on Lampe.

NYK Lineup
C-Nestrovic
PF-Sweetney
SF-Tim Thomas/Lampe (let them battle it out in training camp)
SG-Houston
PG-Ward/Eisley

Bench-Anderson, Spoon, Doleac, Williams, Vranes, Knight

IR-Dyess

Yup. I can live with that.
