I was at a HS here in Georgia today, my son's best friend was in a tournament. As I walked in, I saw a guy that looked familiar, and it as former NBA Allstar and cleveland cavalier Mark Price. I walked by him ,stopped and shook his hand, said "whats up mark, good to see you" I was told his son was playing in the tourney.. he was a very nice and cordial guy, taller than I thought, I am 5'10 he looked every bit of 6'0 -6'1 and still looked in great shape.... His son is going to be tall and the kid is pretty good.

My son is too young to remember mark price, but he was a hell of a player, great shooter, ball handler, good passer. the PG's of the 80's would thrash these guys we have today, with the exception of paul and Kidd who I think are throwback PG's, but it was good to see Price, a classy , and great player... I think people forgot how good this guy was.. Cleveland had kevin Johnson and traded him in favor of keeping mark Price.. what does that tell you about his talent?

I agree, and price IMO was a better shooter off the dribble, I mean mid range shooter...

yea, I agree. I usually don't like to meet star athletes because a lot of the, are jackasses. but price I knew was a class act, he was very nice and extended his hands first to shake mine.. Alan Houston was also nice when I met him.... Classy guys.. why doesn't the league market these types of guys more?

I remember Mark Price almost NEVER missed free throws. Wasn't he like 94% one year?

I used to like Price a lot. He was sort of a poor man's Stockton, but man Price could shoot the basketball. Just a pure shooter.

Those Lenny Wilkens Cavs teams had a lot of somehwhat boring personalities/players (Brad Daugherty anyone?), but those guys played ball the right way. Just another group that couldn't beat Jordan though...

That whole team was underrated. They had hot rod williams, and larry nance......they had ron harper when he was a 20pt scorer. Craig ehlo(sp?), steve kerr.....they were good. They even had terrell brandon backing Price up his first fe years in the league.

Terrell Brandon was just like Price back then too. Very efficient.

One thing you can't doubt about Lenny Wilkens is that he got PG's to play the right way. You can go down the list, Mark Price, Mookie Blaylock. Even Alvin Williams was useful under him. Stephon Marbury probably played the best ball of his Knicks career (and his career in general), during the Lenny Wilkens era. Playing efficiently with the pick and roll and making helping his teammates score.

great post, and what thanks did he get from marbury and Isiah? they ran him out of town... what a joke this franchise has become, I can't say it enough.

Price came from the same factory as Marbury (GA Tech), might have served Marbs good if he stayed and learned from Cremmins, but Marbury was dominant in college and his value was very high.

Price had it when he had the wheels to get it done. That Cav's team with a front of Daughtry and Nance was formitable. They were a good team that had some back luck. Kind of like The Jazz but that michael guy in the east kept them down.

lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.
