Isiah is tanking the season on purpose to attempt to get the #1 pick. Factor in the Dolan statement of being the next Celtics and ofcoure Stern's statment that he thinks the Knicks will be alright next season and the statement that Isiah made clear that he is NOT going anywhere brings me to the conlusion that the Knicks will have a similar scenario to the KG trade.

Possible scenarios :

Knicks draft Derrick Rose, point guard from University of Memphis
Knicks trade Marbury's ending contract to Indiana for O'Neal ( Indy wants ending contract )
Knicks trade Curry and Rose's ending contract to Memphis for Miller & Cardinal ( Memphis gets cap room and a young center )
Knicks sign Artest to the full midlevel exception ( Artest opts out of contract as promised )
Knicks buy out Big Snacks and Q

Starters
C = O'Neal
PF = Zebo
SF = Artest
SG = Miller
PG = Rose

Bench
Crawford, Nate, Balk, Lee, Chandler, Cardinal and Jefferies

Result :

We can play half court with Zebo or JO in the post with shooters in Miller, Craw & Artest on the perimeter to stretch the defense. We can run with Rose pushing it with finishers like Balk, Lee, Chandler and Nate. We can play great defense with Artest, Balkman and JO. And a good bench with Nate, Craw, Balk and Lee.

2. Bird will never (and I mean never) trade with NY)
3. Nobody will trade for Steph
4. O'Neal is finished...

Isiah did not tank this season, and sadly, we most likely are not looking at a top two pick. more like 5-7.

That plan above is bad. You don't use a draft choice as an excuse to now just mess up even further an already screwed up cap situaton. The key here is to try to GET RID of salary and add more picks for next two drafts. We dont have a pick in 2010 so we need to do well the next two years drafting. That said, Dolan owns this team. BlacKat's plan here could very well end up happening.
