Patrick Ewing has tutored perhaps the two best young centers in the N.B.A. and he may soon add the words Hall of Famer to his résumé. That, and five years as an assistant, should make him a strong candidate when the next round of head coaching jobs rolls around. “It’s definitely something I want,” he said. Ewing has worked closely with Dwight Howard and formerly mentored Houston’s Yao Ming. But don’t call him a “big-man coach.” “I don’t want to be pigeonholed,” Ewing said. “I just want to be a coach.” He added, laughing: “Am I going to be a Jeff Van Gundy or Pat Riley? Who knows.”

I'm all for it. Get Colangelo as the GM. Get Pat as a head coach while he figures this mess out, so the fans at least have something to cheer about. And who knows, maybe he can actually can be as good of a head coach as he is a big man's coach.

None of this is ever happening.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Well, to start, there's no shame in Patrick tutoring Yao Ming and Dwight Howard and helping them become two of the dominant forces in the NBA. B/c he's helped done that, I think he deserves to be promoted, but not right to NBA headcoach. Lets see how he is as a headcoaches TOP assistant coach for a year or so. No need to rush into this.

I'd like to see him work with eddy.

If its means its a starphuch thats ok. Pat had the work ethic and might seem to insist his players also.

Isiah lost his team, time for a change.

Trade Zach and rebuild Eddy.

Eddy pared with a tall three that can shoot would help.

Nalod, that's what I've been saying lately.

Eddy ain't going anywhere and Ewing is arguably the best Knick of all time, and with his record tutoring big men, he should at least be a lead assistant on this team next year.

I think it would bring a lot of much needed excitement back to MSG, and potential for our future.

One thing we all know about Ewing was he was a dedicated hard worker, that was highly focused on winning a title. This could be a good indicator for success, and of course...

the perfect scenario is that he becomes head coach and wins the title for the Knicks that he didn't as a player. How cool of story would that be?!?

Let me wake up...it's Sunday Am...time to make some coffee to smell.
