Man I am reall sick of him I dont want him on this team. I would trade him for Walker any day. The gus shoot's 2-19 every night. He might have a good game once in six months but the guy is the most overated knick I know. Houston puts his whole heart out every single game and the knick fans still rip on him. Its all about H20. Trade Spree!

Sorry but Houston is getting up their in age as fast as Sprewell. Houston has been a better player the last two years but his massive contract that reaches until he is 37 us grueling to look at. If i could trade either one Id trade houston--because in reality by the time the Knicks are true contenders again-these guys are well past their prime and if there was anyway to dump his salary-I would do it.

I'm a houston fan also but if any chance the knicks got, you trade Allan Houston and his ridiculous contract. His contract is the main reason knicks can't get any free agents out there.

If you need vets who will show the youngsters character, pride and ability then spree has to go . The guy has ruined many minds since he has come to NY, WE WOULDN'T WANT THE NEW GUYS TO PICK UP HIS HABITS. Stop trying to and Lord knows we need some in NY TO LEAD BY EXAMPLE. Sprewell has served his time and the run with him is over , let Allan be the man like he was last yr and everything will work out fine.

Man ya'll thugged out and fiending for the 90's squad. Sprewell is past his prime in doing what he does best and that is playing with atheleticism. Give me a break. Houston can play his style until he retires.

Ok so you were right the knicks were .500 team with spree ut what would the knicks be without H20. its simple as that spree's time is up, i never respected him. and when some dumb fool responded if you dont like spree stop watching bro that is really dumb i like rest of the team. spree is a cancer like glenn robinson, vin baker, and shawn kemp all of those players make the team suck!and this is my 1st post but i have been posting on realgm for the past 2 years.

To be honest I wouldnt mind seeing Spree remain a Knick for a few reasons:

1) His contract should just expire so we can get under the cap
2) He is still a good player
3) With Lampe being our SF of the future, who is now cleared to play and will be coming off the bench most likely, how about seeing a rotation with him at SF and Spree at the SG?
4) We wont be getting anyone good for Spree if we trade him, it seems like everyone wants to go play out west.

Personally, I think Spree is to Housless what Oakley was to Ewing. Spree has covered a lot of Housless shortcomings, particularly on the defensive end. It will be nice eventually to see Housless have to man-up against Tmac, Kobe, Ivo, Carter and the like instead of passing the buck to Spree. I guarantee you none of those guys lose any sleep over Housless' defense.

But people just can't get over that shot against Miami. When you consider his salary and where he plays, it's almost a shame to realize that Housless had his CAREER YEAR last season and still doesn't rank anywhere near the great Shooting Guards in the league in anything except bank accounts. The funny part will be watching his salary GROW as his skills diminsh, then hearing the same people hollering for his departure! How long do you think this one-dimensional player is going to keep getting over?

Quite frankly, IMO, Housless doesn't even rank over Michael Finley. I'd take Finley over Housless any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

Latrell Sprewell is a has been . If we had someebody else making spree money on our roster as a sf we would be fine. How you guys keep praising this guy baffles me. People just like thugs style players and want everybody to jump on that bandwagon, welll it ain't happening. Prod why when somebody agrees with me you say it's me posting an alias?

Can you say 'exaggeration'?

There are the hardcore anti-Spree and Anti-Houston crowds in here, goin' at it...but the truth is that you're all half-right, but not addressing the real problem.

That they're both HALF the SG we need. Spree is the defense we admire. Houston is the guaranteed scoring. Problem is, take one away and the deficiencies of the other are exposed. I have a feeling we have no choice but to keep both until their contracts are out.

That being said, I'd move the larger contract if we're truly rebuilding - But if we're 'win-now', then keep the high scorer. Houston stays if the playoffs are the destination. That's how it'll be.

Here is the problem with SPREWELL. Starting him at the SF position is our biggest weakness. He's an aging mediocre player (17 pts. on 39% FG) making $13-$14 mil a season. Rebounding is our biggest problem. We were outrebounded by more than 4 boards a game last year. It's the main reason we were a bad team. And Sprewell consistently gets out rebounded. Most teams get at least 2 more rebounds out of their starting SF than we do. There's a reason why we've been trying to trade him for 2 years and no one has wanted him. Don't get me wrong, he plays hard and wants to win, but I think that if he was making $5 mil a season he'd be a worthwhile SG who could help a lot of teams competing right now for a championship. He is a man out of place, a man over paid, a man on the wrong team!

Amen.

I second that Amen and I raise you an Amen and Halleujah.

Houston IS the reason why we are in this multi-year slump. His contract has ruined our budget to the point that we can't get any help for this team. So, what does Layden do? Get players in his warped mind that are good in a trade or waste our mid-level acception on players who are garbage but are just right financialy to reap a heafty contract while sitting on the pines as a 12th man.

Spreewell has done enough for the Knicks to prove his worth. Houston is still living on the laurels of '99 and the fluke "shot" against the Heat. Laurels we are sick of seeing and hearing about.

For the love of all things sacred, get off of Houston's bandwagon already. The wheels are falling apart, the ride is horrible and the driver doesn't care. Why? His pockets are lined with green while everyone else has to suffer through the horrific and cheap ride along all the way to the bank.

Houston has done nothing wrong , man what are you saying. The only guy who hurts this team by playing out of position is Mewell! Trade him for a plate of Ihops panckes and a glass a juice and send him to the paperclipps.

like I said, Neither one of them is as vital as they sound, but remove one, and you need to get someone to compensate for the weakness of the other...If we had real big men, this wouldn't be an issue, But Kurt is center...

If we had a real post threat, both H20 and Spree would light it up regularly.
