Why would Charlotte want Eddy Curry? They have Nazr Mohammed, who is cheaper and better overall.

my thinking is getting something for Emeka in case he does acttually leave. How about Crawford instead of Curry then?

The only ways we could get rid of Eddy are (a) to waive/buy out him, (b) to take back more salary than we're giving up in a trade, or (c) throw in a big sweetener to the deal (David Lee and/or 1st round picks). No team will want Curry for anything he does on the basketball court.

I'm sure they don't have to worry about just getting "something"; plenty of teams would give up "something good" to get Emeka. As a general rule, if you can get a comparably effective player for an MLE signing (like you can with Jamal), I think teams aren't going to willingly take the player for around $10 mil annually.

Basically, we're stuck. The next GM shouldn't even be thinking about turning what we currently have into something good. He should be thinking about letting the players we do have expire and separately adding players and assets via the draft and free agency.

You guys are forgetting one key element: Michael Jordan is NOT going to help Zeke out.

Can you imagine the tug-of-war battle between kiki (if the reports are true) and Isiah? Especially if Kiki tries to move Isiah's love child Craw.

We should be thinking of how to reconstruct Eddy after Isiah threw him under the bus.

Last year Eddy was coming along nice.

Amazing job Isiah has done on this team.

It could take a while. Isn't the life expectancy for men about 75 years these days?

you know i hear a lot of that point of view being supported around here, but then a lot of the same posters complain when what we currently have looks like a heaping pile of doggy poo on a nightly basis... you can't effect much change unless you make moves to do so... standing pat & letting the contracts expire is all well & good but you also have to be willing to accept the fact that nothing's about to change for at least another 2 or 3 years in the process.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

I don't need a quick fix. I've accepted that. It won't be any worse during those 2-3 years than it's been all decade anyway.

at this point i'm disinterested in any player we acquire....this current system is totally ineffective
as an option, and as much as i dislike playing the lottery, now may be the time to liquidate players for future draft picks
however, the most important move knicks organization can make is coaching change, period.

hopefully the light bulb is illuminating
