I am convinced the only reason why Isiah didn't take williams with his #1 pick 2 yrs ago is because of stephons fragile ego.

Kidd wasn't fazed by GM Rod Thorn drafting a pg, but Isiah wasn't thinking future when it came to the knicks only his relationships with the player Marbury(not rocking the boat).

Marcus looks like a real pg after sitting behind kidd for 2 yrs.

Marcus is a nice young player but he has a lot of developing to do as a PG. It is the hardest position to come into the NBA and play. Not like an energy guy who doesn't need to know any plays or worry about running an offense.

wow, this again.

we had Marbury entrenched as the starting PG along w/Jamal & Nate in the backcourt... we had a need for a defensive minded SF which we didn't really have, so Isiah took Balk... then he goes & does his typical nonsensical move & signs a scrub like Jared Fishlips to take away his minutes... this is the world of the NY Knicks.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

Isiah can't pick an obvious player. If we had #1 in this draft he wouldn't take Beasley (or Rose). Instead, he'd pick a track and field star in the high jump who also happens to play basketball at a no name school.

The Nets have a good situation. They are better now then when they had Kidd. Devin Harris will eventually start over Marcus Williams because he has start potential but they can also play together like they did at times last night. The Nets have some really nice pieces--they are a really good big man away from being the best in the east again. Right now--if they can get the chemistry going--they easily make the playoffs and become a tough 1st rounder for anyone but the Pistons

I am pretty sure there was an Isiah quote that basically said they didn't pick williams because the knicks weren't prepared for him to drop to them.

I don't understand how a team with the pay roll of the knicks, and the capacity to spend money, can be unprepared for that kind of eventuality- we should have more scouts and draft experts than any other franchise.

The Knicks are unprepared when the opposing team runs a pick and roll on them, what makes you think they're prepared for anything else?

With seconds to go in regulation against the Spurs, the Knicks are up 3 and Balkman is cheating to help out IN THE PAINT, while his man Michael Finley, is open to shoot and make the game tying 3.

That's how prepared the Knicks are.

Isiah chose the cheeba smoker over the Laptop broker.
