i'll try to keep it simple: tonight fred jones (last year of expiring contract; 29 years old) played 28 minutes while renaldo balkman (2nd year 23 year old) played 13 minutes and wilson chandler (rookie 20 year old) played 6 minutes.

here are some facts:
a) fred jones will NOT be on the knicks next year.
b) the knicks will NOT make the playoffs this year.

THUS,

why is fred jones playing 28 minutes when he will not play beyond the knicks this year, and this year's knicks should, for all intents and purposes, scrap the plans and try to start playing for the future.

isiah is clearly fighting for his job, THE OPPRESSION MUST END SOON! all prayers should be aimed at a top-3 pick. anything else would be uncivilized.

perhaps he's planning on signing Jones to the full MLE at season's end.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

Whenever a player goes public with a trade demand, the chorus of criticism from sportswriting crews is always the same: Honor the contract you signed! That is the one, unanimous view you get from sportswriters all over the country, and it always applies to greedy athletes who "love the lifestyle" and are attempting to cash in and move up instead of playing out a contract with unfavorable terms.

Well, the same applies to the knicks front office. Honor the contract you signed! Do you really think that eddy showed signs of fatigue or seem unintrested in playing NBA basketball with the bulls and that they signed him to a $50 million dollar deal? Do you think the Knicks weren't aware of his love of "FOOD"

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Does Fred have Bird rights? Perhaps Isiah can do better than an MLE!

This isn't Isiah's fault- its Dolan. Dolan should have fired Isiah. He should never have given Isiah a four year extension last year. Dolan is stupid, and he compounds it by forcing Isiah to coach the rest of the year. It doesn't help the knicks situation, it simply sets us back.

Isiah is trying to win- right now, given that he is likely out, he has no interest in the long term value or capabilities of any players on this squad. All he cares about is winning today.

Franco, I said the same thing in the other thread. I was talking with TrueBlue, and I asked him, If you are Isiah, don't you play the vets to try and save your job? I mean it is human nature to want to survive.. Doing the right thing at this point makes no sense for Isiah. So to me, it is dolans fault. Dolan should have fired him long ago, or earlier this year... Dolan has stalled the rebuilding plan by at least a year, he is such a damn scumbag.. In most cases, he is worse than Isiah..

I remember one of the commentators of the game saying Isiah was asked this question. I think his reply was that in the East -it may still be possible to make the playoffs- so he is going with his best players.

If the Knicks win a say 33-35 games and Philly/Nets etc have a bad streak either due to injury/schedule etc. He feels the Knicks may have a chance at the playoffs.

So they need to win 15-17 games out of remaining 26...
Are you kidding man?
I don't think there is any one team in NBA which can do this.
If they win 10 and finish with 28 this will be a freaking miracle. Bad miracle by the way.
